  • 1:17 otoshi uraken, not normal uraken.

  • Certainly not the best but a very commendable performance given his age and light frame.

  • hhaha low

  • Good kata. Whoever said it is bad is just being a jerk. Great side snap kicks. Keep working hard - Very impressive.

  • hahahaha are you kidding me?

this is the best kanku dai: watch?v=-VVbbBN2NXI

  • Not the best kanku... Sorry

  • @whey12345 maybe not THE best but pretty damn good i'd say

  • Your kata sucks, especially because you're a black belt (or brown belt, it is not clear). You need much more training, discipline and maturity to have a black belt and to make a good kanku-dai.

  • seu kata é horrivel!voce é mto ruin e fica se achando com um kata desse

  • why being so critical? karate is a dying art in Japan, you should be glad there is so much interest world-wide in the martial arts and the spirit of karate in the first place. I am glad to see 12 yr old boys and girls training in the dojo, regardless of their Japanese rated talent. Perseverance is the key- and this boy definitely knows how to persevere. Perhaps all those negative commentaries are derived from complete lack of Karate spirit acknowledgement , go back to the teachings people.

  • Kanku, like all kata, isn't a dance, it's a FIGHT. Put 'William Oliver - Seido Karate' into YouTube search bar, and look for the result with the description "Shihan William Oliver performing a kata. Taped in the late 1980's His career in the martial arts was legendary." (should be second result).

Shuseki Shihan William's Kanku is that of a fighter. Do all your kata with fighting spirit. OSU

  • Please remove the title Best Kanku Dai. sorry, this is not the best ok...

  • Mucha fuerza...poca tecnica...no es bueno el kata, esta fuera de tiempo

  • sorry man, you shoud practice more instead of going to tournaments of karate

  • Why does he hesitate so much

  • Oh dear me......

  • Kata muito mal executado, sem tempo e formas corretas. Temos que moralizar o karate e acabar com essas vaidades de dar faixa preta a crianças sem competencia para tal. Oss!

  • All of his stances are flawed, but not hopeless. He should definitely show more kime.

  • keep up the good work, but maybe make it faster, are u shotokan??x

  • where is he seeing? ^^

  • kankudai is for my brown belt grading, kankudai is all the pinan katas put into 1 kata. obviously some clubs train different to others. this young lad done ok, not the best ive seen but it takes guts to do what he done in front of people. so many different styles and different clubs out there. i know of one club that goes from blue belt and the next belt is brown???? happy training guys and gals : )

  • This is HORRIBLE! Who is his instructor? His instructor's instructor? I want to know WHO titled this video, because it is obviously a bad joke or a serious mistake. A 12 year old brown belt? That's part of the problem. Where is this kid from? Does his parents know about this? Oh, My God!

  • @budokichigai today it´s normal. i saw 10-13 years young girls with black belt,my sensei ask me "is the black today nothing worth?" in europe it´s more the "sport-thinking" technique=belt. but so less people look at the standart, mentality, and more of the karateka today.

  • @Piroschatz44 I agree in total!!! The great Yahara said his favorite kata was HEIAN SHODAN!!!! and Dave Hazzard's Is HEIAN GODAN! The body dynamics of karate are looked over to the demise of the power it was meant to have. The Great fighter Elwyn Hall (who is featured on my channel) said "I still practice kata and I enjoy seeing it done well, but for me it is more a means to an end). What he said is that kata is fight training for him. I agree! I used to hate kata, now I do one everyday!

  • @CLEVELEFS i beg this boy don´t know for what he do this techniques,he only do it because its says do this and this now. he does it without understanding, as many people i met.many of my friends karate is much weaker than all other martial arts, only show and dance. btw THIS not the best kanku ive ever seen.i train it now near 20 years and ive seen alot of kankus ^^ and in 3 weeks im 30 years old,i think i know from what i speak at this martial art ^^ but never learned out

  • pathedic people makin fun of the boy and his kata. i went to a JKA tournament a few years back and 90% of the people showed lack of skill. I know cause my Seniors were Azato and Itosu

  • @1987Shodan well maybe... but I dont make fun of karate... the boy here should not do the Kanku dai here... he should practice practice until it weill be at least good technique

  • im on here looking for examples of good kata. the lad isnt strong or with enough kamae but he has learnt the kata and obviously is keen. dont mock the boy for trying, the grading system of juveniles is wrong not the lads intent. Oss

  • @metranil1

I'm guessing by "kamae" you mean "kime". The rest I agree with.

  • @qwasyx3

Kime/ Kamae - posture, power, finish. All of the above, but thanks for the correspondence. keep in touch, nice to have sensible discussion and not nastyness about others form all the time. Cheers.

  • LAMAAAAAAAA....ja mam sice jen 4.kyu ae zvladnul bych to 2x lépe!!!

  • @parkystue heh... :) ja mam sice jen 7.kyu a taky bych to zacvicil lip!!! vsechno ma hrozny je to pomaly...

  • nonono practic!!!!

  • Westerners don't know karate.

  • this is the worst kata i ever seen

  • well hey stokki I am a brown belt and i can do it so shut your mouth in the future because you dont know ! xdxdxdxdxdxdxdxdxd

  • hm, someone please teach this kid some basics, every stance, every technice, every tiny thing was wrong, come on, brown belt standards are low in some places... dont let your yoko-geri fall down but pull it back damnit, or start again at white...

  • @yetakub12345 the black belt wtf ?are you kidding ? in 6 years? how did you get it ? for money? or how ? for black belt you need something around 16-17 years of karate , man ( many humanoid's wil think i'm crazy , but i'm saying the truth)

  • Comment removed

  • @dragoscosma84 nothing is impossible i've been doing Karate since 2004/2005 and in March I'm going to get my brown belt ;) and I'm 13 like the boy in this vid. I can do it better - promise ;)

  • LE PUSIERON VALIUM A LA COCA COLA??

  • No it is certainly seen better ... even by brownbelts !

  • its very possible to be getting a brown belt at 12, but this kid doesn't deserve a brown belt. he doesn't deserve to know kanku dai, this kata is horrible, and its performed completely incorrect.

  • horrible

  • What?? He's a brown belt and kanku dai is a black belt kata WTF!!!

  • @simcena16 well not WTF... his kata is actually horrible. He doesn't deserve his brown belt actually.

  • Give the kid a break will you? I'm 14 and a black belt in taekwondo, and nobody go say I didn't earn it because it took mr 6 years to get and I worked harder than you can imagine

  • @yentalin12345 where i come from you dont even have the possibility of getting a black balt untill your at least 18.. it should take many more years than 6 to earn a black belt.

  • @yentalin12345 this is odd.

i've been training in wado-ryu for 6 years and i'm a brown belt/3rd kyu.. 6 years isn;t long in martial arts, you havent even scratched the surface

  • @stokki88 yeas you can my friend

  • he needs a Coach

  • it lacks of kime i think, and timing

  • lol, the "Best" way to promote your own kanku dai, counting all the reactions here...

  • El Kata no es bueno... pero lo de los 12 años y el cinturón... en Japón los niños tienen cinturones negros a esa edad... y son realmente buenos.

The Kata is not good, but about the belt and the 12 years old.... In Japan the 12 years old boy has black belts... and they are very good black belts.

  • @osovicente karate was based on the idea of one technique, one kill. It was from the mind of the samurai. It has gotten to be a joke because the body dynamics are not taught in the manner it should be and the result is week technique. Body shifting, dropping, kimae.... They must be in all karate movement or it is dance nad useless in self defense. Yahara talks about this all the time!!

  • @CLEVELEFS karate waqs based on bulshit and it is bulshit..waste of time

  • @Freestyleartclub If you think karate is bullshit, you have not seen it done right! I have seen people get knocked out called by a reverse punch. Fighting did not start with Muay-thai and Bjj.

  • @CLEVELEFS do not talk about muay thai.muay thai is real art of fighting..karate is bulshit dance...look at those monkey stance//My two theories on people who believe intraditional martial arts are: First, emotionally, they are still eleven years old and need the magic. Or, by admitting that the top rungs of martial arts are impossible to reach, they relieve themselves of responsibility when they fail to reach that level. respect for all muay thai warriors//muay thai forever

  • @Freestyleartclub Muay-Thai is "traditional" and by you saying "respect to all muay-thai warriors//muay-thai forever", you show that you are also "in love" with "style". You are no different since you are "hooked" on muay-thai. Sure MT has a "high side", but why do you think it is just ONE aspect of training for MMA fighters? Because no style is complete.

  • @CLEVELEFS muay thai does not have limit..you can stay as you like you can what you like..it is not style..muay it means free.. you do not know about muay thai dude.mma fighters practising for their stund up muay thai..because 100% real art//no junk.

  • @Freestyleartclub MMA fighters use Muay-thai but they ahve to adjust the hand position to western boxing because MT fighters generally don't have good hands in Thailand like the western fighter. Next, in the 1960s 3 kyokushin fighters went to thailand and fought 3 MT fighters. Kyokushin won 2-1. Look it up.

  • @CLEVELEFS oyamas best student was knocked out by thai fighter who was 12 kg less then him.after that he left kyokushin because he was second rank after oyama and he thought he is good fighter. after that fights kyokuishin took low kicks elbows and knees from muay thai. even these days kyokushin best fighters getting ko by holland muay thai fighters such peter aerts remmy, badr hari..because no reaction to protect head.men you can think whatever you want muay thai is real and king martial arts

  • @Freestyleartclub Get a white t-shirt, get a training knife and dip it in red paint. Have someone come at you with that fake knife and you only use Muay-thai lol. You will get get killed! it is not for real combat, it is for the ring. keep dreaming. Nakamura of newyork knocked out the thai boxer and that is a fact. Next, Andy hug????

  • @CLEVELEFS for the knife people practising krav maga..and there are no martial arts can stund up with knife..only muay thai low kicks elbows or krav maga stine stick etc..but bulshit age uke or gedan barai 100 % going to kill you..andy hug lost 2 fight to mike bernardo, he was stronger then him but he lost..problem was bad karate defence. he took 6 month muay thai and boxing lessons after 6 month came back and won mike bernardo. karate is bulshit..kind of dancing.

  • @Freestyleartclub Muay-thai low kicks n elbows do nothing against a knife when used like they are in Muay-thai. Low kicks r better than high kicks but r u going to throw that low kick with your hands up out in front of u like u r asking someone 2 stop lol ? And that clinch, r u going 2 "fight for inside position" n do that little dance while u r figuring out what knee 2 use? I teach Muay-Thai btw and when someone wants 2 learn self-defense I tell them they should take another one of my classes

  • @Freestyleartclub Elwyn Hall knocks out 3 0f 4 MT fighters as does Yahara with their shotokan!

  • @CLEVELEFS ou know what is funny?knocks out with what?to knock someone out you need know how to strike..how shotokan can strike?example muay thai fighter over over over punches kicks spars hard on heavy bag thai pads their shin ,arm stomach fitness endurance so powerfull.how can someone doing few air kick few kata can stund up with muay thai?shotokan people still belivies on superman.hahahahaha

  • @Freestyleartclub I have Elwyn Hall on my channel now! if someone go in the way of his punch they got knocked out!!!!! One punch!!!!!! It is on now. If he hit anyone with his reverse punch, they go.

  • @CLEVELEFS yes people staying and waiting when stupid elwin will do gyaku zuki.. muay thai forever fuck stupid monkey stance and like in shotokan hahahahaha

  • @Freestyleartclub Are you retarded??? You call Elwn Hall stupid because he knocks people out!!! lol. get off the MT's jock!!! Fighting did not start with MT or BJJ. Every time one of you punks hear about something you start talking like it invented fighting. People get knocked out using Mt just like any other art. if hall hit a My fighter he will go out like anybody else.

  • all a belt proves is that the person has done all the required things to the examiners standard, if he had not done this then he would have not recieved his belt. My sensei always says the belt dont make the man, the man makes the belt.

  • Performance is ok, but you really need to take "BEST" away from the Video Title!!!

  • Come on, give me a break. "Best Kanku Dai?"

Not to be a jerk, but people are on here searching for decent Kata's to watch - not junior students. It's not a reflection on his talent - he may be good if he keeps working - but again, change the name of the video.

And have him watch videos such as this - at the very least, he needs to sharpen his movements - if he's going to be competing.

  • no intensity...

  • nice start to a great kata. keep it up!

  • BEST KANKUDAI???

  • ..best kanku dai..?

This is ugly. You can find younger boys doing so much better..

  • that is not the best Kanku Dai

  • Contrary to most comments for this video, the kata was well performed. But the commentators need to remember that the student is performing the kata, not claiming to be a master of the kata. I find it dismaying that the commentators blame the student for being a 12 year old brown belt when I once had a student who was a 14 year old black belt. The student doesn't promote himself, the teacher does. I will grant that a 12 year old kyu rank can't "understand" the kata, but tournaments are for show.

  • This would never pass 3rd kyu in Japan.

  • Mi dispiace ma credo di aver visto Kanku day migliori..

  • @ccrfnc Hai ragione,ed in piu non ha nemmeno chiamato il kata !!!

  • mma practioner every style but every one has respect for every style so no style is better than any other and it comes down to how much commitment you have to your style

  • was it just me or was that kata totally not the best kata , it barely had any kime or speed+ i swear i saw his back leg lift up in many of his forstrances (jen kotsu dachi) and there was something about his shoto's that bugged me , i think he was leaning forward alot , all in all i would say it was a an ok performance for a green belt but definatly no were near par for a brown belt and what kind of karate ka boasts about his kata on youtube

  • wtf ?! ...

  • DonalPhelan... U HAVE NO IDEA WHAT UR TALKING ABOUT. Maybe they should keep lying 2 him by giving the kid a hug and tell him how good he is. Then 1 day when he gets his ASS WHIPPED the kid is going to think what happend. It's not his fault its the so called sensay's fault. If u train the kid right and train hard he doesnt have to wait to grow up to have power in his punches and he would be good.

  • kiwallawalla7 and Zguy1217 U hit it right on the button. In martial arts age does not determine rank. Paying for belts doesnt either. The kid lacks alot of power (no koshi wasa)

everything is week. Thats the Sensay's error in promoting and not teaching correct technique. Promoting students just to charge them extra money every few months instead of promoting only when a student has learned and has the skills to be promoted. He will get his ASS handed to him sooner then later.

  • this guy sucks ass, the guy who posted this is the same same guy in the video. THis is shit and he shouldn't have a black belt. He only got 7's which is barely passing. Absolutely shit.

  • fico besta de ver, o guri é faixa preta fazendo um kata bosta desse?

  • a mio parere è senza tecnica e forza..

  • You should improve your phisical strength, use more kime and speed..

  • Super kata, mais manque de force (un peu normal vu l'age).

    Ca promet!!

Super kata, but lack of power (just normal since the age).

  • Yes this boy is young but in martial arts the spirit and and ability is not measured in age, it is measured by rank. If this bot is not performing at the level of his rank than he is paying for his belts and not earning them, Any one can learn a kata from any teacher, but it takes a good teacher to be able to teach a student to be able to DEPEND on a or all kata he(she) knows.

  • You're exactly right. This is obviously a school I often refer to as a "Black Belt Factory" their only goal is to make money by pushing kids through ranks when they have in no way reached the level of skill that should be appropriate with that rank level. I'm willing to be that this kid will get a "Black Belt" by age 14 and then quit martial arts and 2 years later will get his butt handed to him by someone who just knows how to throw a punch.

Black Belt Factory /= Combat Martial Arts

  • People are very quick to criticize on YouTube, and especially with martial arts videos. I think for a kid of 12-13 years of age this is very good. Of course it lacks power & kime, but that's normal for somebody so young. Maybe people watching this have seen too many Hollywood movies & forget how long it takes to reach a level where the power and spirit are visible in a a kata?

That said, calling it "Best Kanku Dai" is asking for criticism.... but maybe it simply means this was *HIS* best?

  • Here, here. I agree with all said above. The kid of course lacks speed, kime and zanshin, but it is not a bad kata for someone so young.

Many are quick to post a critical response, but I suppose as previous poster outlined calling this the Best Kanku Dai may lead others to be more than critical. Perhaps this is the kids best Kanku Dai and as we all know no matter how long we have been doing martial arts there is always room for improvement.

It doesn't take a lot to offer positive feedback!

  • what is this shit???

  • shit..

  • Power dose come with age for most kids, I would say this was good but I would ask how many aplications for each move did you know.

PS I stoped for 5 years and have only just got back into it. It supprised me how much I missed it and how happy I am to be back.

  • He needs to have more fighting spirit so that he could perform with more speed and more power. Also he needs to learn how to perform the shuto properly. My sensei made sure that I knew my basics before I even first graded, because of that I now understand how focus and strike fast and efficiently with full power and full spirit.

  • That's not a bad kata for 12-13, people need to get their head out of their ass. If you ever go back to karate and haven't fixed this yet work on your shuto chamber.

  • it was slow...and you need more "kime"..work in it, the jump was good. Keep practice kid

  • i give u 3 out of 10 without any kime \ power \ speed

    and very low technique ;

  • amaters

  • agora que ja estas com dois anos

  • That is me in the video!

    I recently quit karate!

But yes at this time of when i did the kata, i know that i needed more power and needed more work! But i tried my best and gave it my all, and in the long run... I got Bronze!!!

  • No power at all. Try to improve on power .

  • The moves were good, BUT the biggest mistake was: He doesn't use any power!

A kata is an imaginary fight, so you need to show that you're fighting... this guy concentrates himself on the moves, which is inportant, but the most important thing is to show power. And he should know that by the colour of his belt, if you don't know that, then you aren't worthy of having that belt. I have the 2nd kyu now and I worked 7,5 years for it.

  • i swear at 1:27 he missed a move

  • No, he didn't. Apparently this is the current form of the ending of the kata.

  • It was ended correctly. the kata ends up with you facing the wrong way so you have to do a 180 spin into finishing.

  • Obviously wasnt perfect, in no way should have titled best kanku dai, but to get up and do it takes guts to attempt such a tough kata, keep working and he'll only get better.

  • I saw recently a taekwondo belt exam that made me feel ashamed of my belt colour. I moved to Canada recently with a brown belt in shotokan for which I worked 9 years because of the hard training before it. My sensei was giving you the belt only if you were a level above the colour you wanted (as training).

He said that wherever we go, and whoever sees us practicing will reflect on him.

And now, if anyone asks me, I am ashamed to say I have a brown belt. They will think I got it in 1 year...

  • It ALL goes back to the instructor! He technically isn't good enough to be doing this kata. Kanku sho maybe a better choice.

  • what kind of kata was that !!!!!!!

    thats so shit!!!!

  • shoto uke warui desu motto motto kime onegai

  • Maybe the best in USA...

  • whoa... dont mix that guy in with us. that's canada's problem. haha.

  • ha. haha. no. but for a 12-13 kid and brown belt, i applaud it. yes, it needs work, as all katas do, as we are all in constant pursuit of a never coming perfection. so no, it's not the best, but i'm guessing of the group of forms in his division, he came out at the top of the class. for a youth, his attention to detail and zanshin are flawless.

  • A lot of people are going hard on this kid, sure there's mistakes and things that could be done better, but we don't know much about what he's going for. We just witnessed a single kata. Besides, sometimes people stress kata as teaching body mechanics, balance, and coordination of movement. When he moves into a combative situation of course he won't move like that.

Way to go on that form. I teach Tang Soo Do and you hit a lot of important points. Great to see another so dedicated!

  • Of course. however fighting reflects kata practice, bad kata = weak stance and bad technique for fighting. Also i didn't read all the coments but the guy who titled this is clearly wrong.

  • @topgearfan72 ur fighting skill n technique is achieved my doing the same technique over n over again more than 100k times tell u do it effortlessly, karate is easy to understand n learn its just hard to push urself everyday to do 1k reps of over 15types of kicks (theirs more but i dont use a lot of the kicks because they r useless in realife situations (i do katas but not by the book n i do it rarely because sparing n what i explained above is the best/.

  • on the other hand,it isnt the BEST kanku-dai ive seen anyway, unlike the video suggests:P

  • 12 year old boys with brown belts, this should be impossible. A 12 year old can't live up to the standards you need to have with a brown belt

  • i've trained since i was 5, under the sensei leading the jka in portugal and at 12 i was a brown belt- 3rd kyu. it's actually more common than you may think, but in some other schools, belt promotion is a joke. the jka has always kept it's high standards and i was graduated according to them

  • @stokki88 if a 12 year old can have discipline in karate then imagine the discipline in school.. i was a black belt by 11 and i think this kid deserves it if he learned that he can not only disciplines himself in shotokan but in school and life as well.. its a life lesson not a karate lesson

  • @rep8o8 put this kid up to a 18 year old brown belt and let them fight, who wins? A belt shows your stage in karate, not in life! Maybe this is normal to shotokan, i dont know i have a kyokushin background. But a brown belt should be equal to another brown belt. In my opinion his sensei and shi-han should not let him pass his brown belt exam because he's not equal to other brown belts in mental- physical strenght and discipline.

  • @stokki88 i feel you.. but i mean to have a high rank means you SHOULD have some discipline in something feel me.. it not somethin you really learn.. it comes wit experience i think with any persons experience in karate shotokan or even kajukempo, it should be more of a life lesson cuz martial arts wont save you in the streets.. not that im sayin it wont help lol

  • @stokki88 I was a 12 year old brown belt. and now I am a 16 year old black belt. if you have the skill, the finesse, the determination to do it. you can. its not a full black belt its a junior black belt (just for reference). I now am the Sempi of my school, and i also am learning Toyama Ryu. It IS possible and I must say that that was one hell of a kata

  • @stokki88 I was a 12 year old brownbelt, and now I am an 18 year old black belt. If you have the skill, the finesse, and the technique to achieve such a rank is to be honored. I am now Sempi of my class and I also instruct. I am also learning Toyama Ryu. It is very possible to achieve such a rank. And that was one hell of a kata! bravo!

  • @stokki88 true that.

  • @stokki88 Why impossible? I'm a brown belt at age 14, been a brown belt for a year, probably will be the same for another year or two, but, I'm always looking to learn, and perfect my skills. But, I have to agree with others, this is definitely not the best Kanku Dai performance.

  • @99mag3r99 Watch my other comments, it's already explained

  • @stokki88 AMEN (to 12-year-olds with brown belts!). It makes me sick to see classes of kids wearing brown and black belts; I feel like beating them senseless. I earned a green belt in a real dojo but in the States (at least to the dojos I've been to), you practically buy your way to a black belt, which has all the merit of literally buying a $10 black belt!

  • @stokki88 Im 9 and im a brown belt

  • @spartanhector well, UR FUCKED UP

  • @stokki88 So what ?? I started at 6 years old and i had my black belt at 11 years old and I rushed !!! But I really earn it , thats for sure . And now im 14 and im on my 2nd dan exam and its really tough ... So yes he can be brown belt at 12 years old !!! And yes its possible !

  • @stokki88 Bitch when I was 12 I got my brown belt and boy theres this kid who is 10 and already gotten his Black Belt Damn man dont under estimate

  • @stokki88 I wouldn't really say the standards, I would say the responsibilities. Too many dojo give out belts for minimal performances. I didn't get my brown belt (3rd) until I was 16, and then two years later, I was reassessed as a senior and was dropped down to green (6th). We don't give black to juniors - reason for the reassessment. I received my brown 5 years after starting karate, and I was exceptional (mature), usually it takes 7 years unlike the 'norm' or 2.5 to 3 yrs in other dojo.

  • @stokki88 Excuse me sir/madam but I received my brown belt when i was only 10. From JKA philippines. Ossu!

  • I just saw an * year old perform Kanku dai and she was faaaaaaaar much better. whoever is performing this kata lacks one thing, Power and Spirit. Plus the kata was not fluid. Anyway good effort

  • This is sport Karate. No good. Kicks are too high. He is dancing, not killing. Karate is about putting people on the ground as rapidly as possible in such a way that they do not get back up. Not looking pretty.

  • Exectly, all first attack must be on chudan, not jodan.

  • WTF!!! no way it's the best!!!!

  • Maybe he meant it's *his* best. Back off, he's just a kid.

  • ahhaHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA best?

  • not best

  • i know a lot of much younger kids which are much better than this boy....

  • Good kata. Much potential, work hard and don't give up.

  • Part of the issue is that the boy is 12 or so, much of what he needs to fix will come as he grows into his body. Things he can concentrate on are making sure each technique is completed before moving on to the next. For instance the chudan uke gyaku tsuki, and chudan uke nidan tsuki combos are blurred. If you think of a a pendulum, it's constantly moving yet at each end of the swing there is an identifiable point at which it stops before swinging back the other way. Look at Kanazawa's video.

  • Well said, all that is needed is a bit of power which will come with age. A bit more focus with the techniques as you said and he will be very good.

  • omg... u are very slow and i'm beteer ...

    best?HAHAHAHAHAHAHaahaha

  • Really? Put a video up of your performance then.

  • I'm orange belt (7th kyu) and i know pretty much kanku dai, but i do better heian yondan.

  • ez egy fos...

  • Wieso hat der einen schwarzen Gürtel? In Deutschland kann man erst ab 18 einen machen.

  • Well, I don't train shotokan, i train shinkyokushin, so to me, it just looks like a lot of waving with your legs and arms=P

  • yes too young. good punches though. and kicks. yes more power and precision. but good for age. stronger kyai will help.

  • Typical, those clubs who give a black belt to every kid, in belgium we have to do our exam befor The Belgian Karate Federation, if you get a black belt there, it means you have power, precision and concentrtion,...

  • best? don't make me laught -_-

  • Every Kata tells a story. You have to listen to that story as the kata tells it to you, and then you will know how to perform it. Don't look at the Kata as a collection of different techniques, look at it as a whole.

  • You should try to perform Kata exactly how you would use the techniques in the street. e.g soft on the block and hard on the punch in a 1/2 manor a big mistake is to pause on a block because you will get you ass kicked lol. I wish you a good Journey on the path of being a good Karate Ka all the best Sensei Jonathan Bolt.

  • Overall the Kata was not bad. Remember Do means the way, not my way, not their way but your way You should make Karate work for you.

  • Overall the Kata was not bad although yes it did lack meaning. Remember Do means the way (not their way, or my way) but it means your way.

  • We little kiddy black belts ruining karate's reputation.

    No power, no precision

  • so true! they should wait till there 16 for their black

  • he has good stance, but it seems to be a bit rushed. no power or rhythm either. its not the best but still good. Keep up the good workk :)

  • although I think he's a brown belt, his kime should be better (a thing I had to work hard on), his Sensei should really be working on it and use this video and that of others with good kime to compare and learn. A credit to the student on reaching brown belt and competing - just another step out of many is all.

  • for his age, is a good performed kata. all of you criticizing must think: what many young people are doing at that age? seeking trouble? He is focused and motivated...karate and kata shall be his salvation! Peace!

  • for his age? in this age u should not show this kata if there is not the physcal needing given Oo

in my opinion every heian kata shown by orange or green belt should win if the technics are better and there is the same kime or better .....

  • fai schifo !!! vai troppo veloce e nn metti kimè infinele posizioni sono tutte sbagliate
