@buttnut1080 Good list and I agree with most of it. But do you really need 2 stripped out super cars (Scuderia and GT3RS). I say for the weekend either a regular 458 Italia or a LP640 convertible (perfect for cruising/posing around :P )
@gogors4 Here's the thing and I understand where you're coming from. The 458 Scuderia, all though somewhat stripped out, will be much sharper and just plain better than the normal 458. I'm not gonna need any luxury in my super car, that's what the Aston is for. And the GT3 RS, because of its reliability and build quality, makes the perfect track day tool. And, I don't believe in convertible super cars, especially the 640 convertible.

And as far as the coupe vs convertible thing goes the coupe is better built and more stable at high speeds, which is where my 640 would be most of the time.

The 430 scuderia musn't be compared with these 2. The new Lmabo and porsche should be compared to the 458 italia. The 430 (and scuderia) should be compared to the old gallardo and 911 turbo. and the 458 italia will rip these 2. In a straight line as well as in the bends.

Definantly, I guess they just wanted to get their hands on the latest lamborghini but at the time the italia was not avaible neither the newer gt3rs 2010 , meaning the LP60-4 was released first ....but I love lamborghinis and will always chose them but that scuderia looks tastier than the lp560-4

The lambo and ferrari are often beng sued because they never live up to the quoted top speed and at high speeds they float off the road. Lambo just became reliable under VW

Have a look at some Mototrend magazine tests. In one of them Nissan was owned by Corvette ZR1, Ferrari 599 GTB and 997 GT2 during single race. Nissan is very good, but these cars are just awesome..

Nissan have stated clearly that the GTR is not a drag car but a track car, hence the results on the Nurburgring and the UK Top Gear test track... 599 doesn't even come close on a track GT2 0.2sec faster and for twice the GTR price is nothing. The ZR1 is the only real competition...
Both 997 GT2 and LP560-4 were faster at Top Gear test track. F430 Scuderia did a lap in the same time, as Nissan. Who do cares about track times? Looks, sound and straight line speed - it is what matters for a real supercar owner. Nissan is just a plastic toy for the poor.

Check the Nurburgring times the Top Gear UK and AUS times and you will see for youself...
They don't need to throw the R8 into the comparison because the Lamborghini LP 560-4 is there already, and it uses the same V-10 engine and similar AWD system. Also, the R8 is a great all rounder, but isn't considered hardcore enough to be a supercar alongside Ferraris, etc. As forthe Pagani, it's a much more race-track oriented car, and it doesn't fit in the Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche comparison at all.
Good point, but mind you, the Reventon(s) are privately owned, and I don't think any of the owners are willing to let Autocar borrow their car for a day or two to go ripping down some tracks. But the thing is, the Reventon doesn't fit in this category. The reventon is more of an competitor to the Pagani, or the Ferrari Enzo.

Qualifying a supercar has nothing to do with price, or luxury, it's about pure performance and wow factor, while still being street legal and usable. "Exotic" describes more of the elusiveness, price, luxury and visual design. A Mclaren F1 was/is a supercar, but is really rough around the edges. A Corvette is ZR1 IS a supercar, argue it all you want, but it demands attention from its shear performance statistics, but its not an exotic.
Supercars must be in their own league. Look at a Koenigsegg or Bugatti. Maybe Ferrari Enzo or Maserati MC12. Their price tags make them only affordable to multi-millionares. Many people can get ahold of F430s, Gallardos and especially porsches. Carrera GT is one too. They are their own breed. These 3 cars are in the same cat as a Corvette and viper which aren't supercars either
considering that over 2,000 have been sold in the USA, that's quite a number of Ferrari F430s. U can pick one up used nowa days for cheaper than a ZR1 or Bentley GT. Same goes for the gallardo or the 911.

I don't think porsche is over-hyped. They make a good car, and every time they release a new generation it has several significant improvements over the last generation. They employ technology just as aggressively as any other car company, but they don't demand $300K for it.
that's not true, the GT2 is more race-track focused than the GT3. the GT2 has a lower weight, a more powerful engine, hell it is so focused it dun got ac.
That´s true. I´ve been into Porsche all my life and the GT3 is like a civil race version, which you can make a racecar easily. It doesn´t even have double- glass windows or anykind of anti- noise equipment.
The GT2 is more like an expert version of the turbo, which is also a very nice car! :-D

The Porsche is great but very common place, or at least to the untrained eye. I like them all but if I could afford one it would be the lambo I would take. Why? Because of the history of the company and the rivalry with Enzo Ferrari. I like cheering for the underdog.
the gt2's exhaust is too restrictive and quiet, they should have let that twin turbo flat 6 sing and then it would be a real competitor. I would still take the Porsche over all of those though, white with a proper manual gearbox.

well I'm not agreeing with what you're saying about the Lambo being shitty, because it's not, the Ferrari is probably the raciest of the group. It's stripped out with 30 more horsepower than the regular F430 and it will do 200. The Porsche is the best to me because of what you say, you can use it everyday, it does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and it does 204mph and it does it so easily. Also the low end torque that flat 6 makes is undeniably good.
yeah but aswell, the porsche is not nearly about showing off as the other two are right? and dam right the manuel gearbox is the way to go. in 10 years the hopefully will still be able to get them, but im guessing good old motorcycles will be the only way to feel truly connected to the road/machine
Indeed, the Ferrari F430 is definitely a winner. The Gallardo is a strong second place finisher. The Porsche, though a nice car and very strong, looks pedestrian. Comments about the Nissan GT-R "destroying" is a bit far fetched. Mentioning Nissan in the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche level doesn't sound right. When you buy a Ferrari you are buying history, passion, emotion, and sexy good looks. The GT-R, admittedly fast, has no soul and just plain U-G-L-Y.
I think I would take the Lamborghini. Then again, I would take any of them.

Have a look at some Mototrend magazine tests. In one of them Nissan was owned by Corvette ZR1, Ferrari 599 GTB and 997 GT2 during single race. Nissan is very good, but these cars are just awesome..

Nissan have stated clearly that the GTR is not a drag car but a track car, hence the results on the Nurburgring and the UK Top Gear test track... 599 doesn't even come close on a track GT2 0.2sec faster and for twice the GTR price is nothing. The ZR1 is the only real competition...

Both 997 GT2 and LP560-4 were faster at Top Gear test track. F430 Scuderia did a lap in the same time, as Nissan. Who do cares about track times? Looks, sound and straight line speed - it is what matters for a real supercar owner. Nissan is just a plastic toy for the poor.

They don't need to throw the R8 into the comparison because the Lamborghini LP 560-4 is there already, and it uses the same V-10 engine and similar AWD system. Also, the R8 is a great all rounder, but isn't considered hardcore enough to be a supercar alongside Ferraris, etc. As forthe Pagani, it's a much more race-track oriented car, and it doesn't fit in the Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche comparison at all.

Good point, but mind you, the Reventon(s) are privately owned, and I don't think any of the owners are willing to let Autocar borrow their car for a day or two to go ripping down some tracks. But the thing is, the Reventon doesn't fit in this category. The reventon is more of an competitor to the Pagani, or the Ferrari Enzo.

The Ferrari may be better, and most have it ahead of EVERYTHING, but for me its the Lambo. I cant handle the intakes on the Ferrari and its rear light arrangement.

Qualifying a supercar has nothing to do with price, or luxury, it's about pure performance and wow factor, while still being street legal and usable. "Exotic" describes more of the elusiveness, price, luxury and visual design. A Mclaren F1 was/is a supercar, but is really rough around the edges. A Corvette is ZR1 IS a supercar, argue it all you want, but it demands attention from its shear performance statistics, but its not an exotic.

Supercars must be in their own league. Look at a Koenigsegg or Bugatti. Maybe Ferrari Enzo or Maserati MC12. Their price tags make them only affordable to multi-millionares. Many people can get ahold of F430s, Gallardos and especially porsches. Carrera GT is one too. They are their own breed. These 3 cars are in the same cat as a Corvette and viper which aren't supercars either

considering that over 2,000 have been sold in the USA, that's quite a number of Ferrari F430s. U can pick one up used nowa days for cheaper than a ZR1 or Bentley GT. Same goes for the gallardo or the 911.

I don't think porsche is over-hyped. They make a good car, and every time they release a new generation it has several significant improvements over the last generation. They employ technology just as aggressively as any other car company, but they don't demand $300K for it.

That´s true. I´ve been into Porsche all my life and the GT3 is like a civil race version, which you can make a racecar easily. It doesn´t even have double- glass windows or anykind of anti- noise equipment.
The GT2 is more like an expert version of the turbo, which is also a very nice car! :-D

The Porsche is great but very common place, or at least to the untrained eye. I like them all but if I could afford one it would be the lambo I would take. Why? Because of the history of the company and the rivalry with Enzo Ferrari. I like cheering for the underdog.

the gt2's exhaust is too restrictive and quiet, they should have let that twin turbo flat 6 sing and then it would be a real competitor. I would still take the Porsche over all of those though, white with a proper manual gearbox.

well I'm not agreeing with what you're saying about the Lambo being shitty, because it's not, the Ferrari is probably the raciest of the group. It's stripped out with 30 more horsepower than the regular F430 and it will do 200. The Porsche is the best to me because of what you say, you can use it everyday, it does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and it does 204mph and it does it so easily. Also the low end torque that flat 6 makes is undeniably good.

Indeed, the Ferrari F430 is definitely a winner. The Gallardo is a strong second place finisher. The Porsche, though a nice car and very strong, looks pedestrian. Comments about the Nissan GT-R "destroying" is a bit far fetched. Mentioning Nissan in the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche level doesn't sound right. When you buy a Ferrari you are buying history, passion, emotion, and sexy good looks. The GT-R, admittedly fast, has no soul and just plain U-G-L-Y.
