You can spend millions of dollars in filming the different sequences and rendering the graphics. But the game MUST BE FUN before it is anything else. Rockstar seemed to forget about that when they flopped with GTA IV. If the game has amazing graphics but isn't fun then it's just an interactive movie.

So, be as innovative as you'd like with the graphics. But please spend more time on the gameplay, Rockstar. Please.

Rarely as fun as a game. Plenty of movies are fun, but very few pack the entertainment value of a videogame. Not only that, but they are NEVER worth $60. Even worse, a movie lasts a mere 2 hours; while the typical videogame these days lasts you over 20 hours of entertainment.

So, all I'm saying is that if they're going to make a videogame, then they need to make sure to put more emphasis on the game than on the video. Because, we can all get plenty of good videos for less.

i understand now. so the key gameplay feature in this game is to read other people's intentions and feelings by analyzing their facial expression and body language. i'm assuming their will be a conversation system like mass effect. this is a very exciting detective game. it feels like those detective movies like the bone collector, basic instincts, the island, etc where you need to figure out who's the killer and what's going on.

Wonder how they'd use this tech with purely conceptual faces, especially if one talented VA voices multiple characters. Of course they could style different faces around the same musclature to give a little illusion of difference. Otherwise too many majors having the same face would be jarring, and just getting a 'stand-in' face might ruin the immersion, unless it can be circumvented somehow.

Certainly be interesting to see this applied to fantasy creatures and aliens in the coming years.
