Safe and effective. No pain- just pressure. Takes 15 minutes or so. Like a dental procedure. A relative had it done and was shoveling snow that evening.
It's the only sinus device created for the office.
It's impressive how elegantly something as simple as a balloon can solve what's usually a very complicated problem. More impressive is the surgeon that can deftly handle a tool half a millimeter wide!
What is the experience for the patient while this is happening? Does the inflation of the balloon suddenly dump a lot of fluid into the nasal cavity or throat?
@collabi No fluid is released from the balloon unless it breaks which is less than 1%. The patient is awake and may feel some pressure. Most tolerate it well.
@clowncone69 The nose has extremely narrow spaces which are not easily navigated while under local anesthesia. The first space is between the middle turbinate and lateral wall which may be 2 mm in width. Then yu have to go behind the uncinate and bend 120 degrees back and laterally without removing the uncinate. Trans canine approach is a straight shot.
@NoseMDI checked with the government, this unproven technique has no clinical data collection scheduled. No data shows up in the literature, are these patients guinnea pigs?
Sinus Guru clearly has an agenda.
Likely covered by payer if NOT bluecross.

Why not just go in through the natural opening of the nose!
