in japan, all races other than japanese are treated the same way as gaijin. the word "gaijin" means non-japanese. in japan, it doesn't matter whether you are asian or not. so saying japanese are asian is kinda bullshit to them and japanese ppl don't say "I'm asian".

I'm Japanese and I like this video. Racism is defined as the belief that one race is superior to another. Americans don't think they're better at it but for some reason these Orientals believe that they are superior making them the racists. Their arguments aren't even valid and I'm glad to see someone stand up to them. Their biggest argument is that the characters are "Asian". Pure blooded orientals have brown hair and brown eyes. The girls also don't get bigger than a B cup. 90% aren't Asian.

Saying "Anime characters with the Anime's story setting in the west [ such as in Kuroshitsuji ] are western characters" is as retarded as saying "the westerners who live in Asia [ such as in Vietnam ] are Asians". Retarded because no matter where the story setting of our Anime is we Asians still make our Anime characters [ including in Kuroshitsuji ] to be based on our own Asians facial & body form and not based on the westerners facial & body form.
I've seen videos where people have said that only asains can cosplay because the anime characters are based on the Asian physique! NOPE most anime characters have pale skin, are tall, and have large boobs and people in Europe have some of the biggest boobs! But some asain cosplays are good but so can western cosplays too!

The large eyes common in anime characters come from 1940s and 50s western cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Felix the cat and Bugs Bunny. If you look at old images of astroboy the connection is quite clear.

Good point, people dont realize that maybe the 'great cosplayer' is actually a model hired by the Production studio to cosplay for them at the con. I'm sure there are many young girls who do take their time to pull it off but lets face it, high expenses on 'model quality' and professional photography equipment costs a bundle. Well thank god there are people against that idiot. Although, I do have to say, being Westerner or Asian doesn't matter if you only do it for high quality pictures. It's about having fun with it, not putting countless hours to get the best lighting and contrast...but whatever. I don't even cosplay so I'm not sure how I got here.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying its not the race but the mindset the quality the people behind the cosplay. Obviously these cosplayers who look amazing are not making this all happen on their own they have a team they have an amazing camera an amazing costume & mad photo editing software plus a crap ton of money to afford it all Not everyone in the world has that kind of money or team thus we can't always have Glammer Shot worthy cosplay pictures PS cosplay is for FUN :D
The rock lee and gai lee asian cosplays were actually really good. :D I'm a western cosplayer and I personally am inspired by asian cosplayers. They make me want to strive to make the best cosplay and find the best wig I can find. I love western and asian cosplays because they're both inspiring and personally, I think cosplay is just for fun. Live, laugh, and cosplay everybody! :)
Ugh, I hate people who think that perfectionists are the only ones who should cosplay... Ever. I love to cosplay, and I buy high-quality items as well as style my own wigs. I may not have hte perfect body, (i'm working on it!) but I'm trying to be the best cosplayer I can be!

I'll be honest, it only really annoys me that Proud only uses examples that are KAWAII DESU kind of examples :I I've never seen him use an example of a male cosplayer (to which I know SO MANY good male cosplayers) or of a female crossplaying as a male. He's just using those examples to try and drown out our examples. Go on World Cosplay.com and search up some western flagged cosplayers. Seriously. Maybe I MYSELF am not much of a good cosplayer, but most Westerners are :)

@MandyMerlot Actually MOST anime characters don't look exactly asian. They have the Asian body structure and facial proportion, but western eyes, hair, chest, and legs. I have a few mix raced friends are absolutely made for cosplay.
I'm a westoner cosplayer (For the various Miku costumes) and when people say asians cosplay better I feel really annoyed. It's unfair that all westerner cosplayers should be lumped together when some are working quite hard to have decent cosplays and good quality photos

I honestly believe that everyone can costly. Most "westerners" Try harder in their cosplays, because they have a better apprieciation for the anime/Manga. A lot of Westerners pay MORE for their costly outfits, because we can't go around the corner to a costume shop, most things we cosplay in are bought online, and made.
Also , he fails to notice , that if you actually look closely at Kipi , she wears a lot of eyeliner (to outline the eye , making it appear bigger) , and fake eyelashes , causing her eyes to appear bigger. Same for most other cosplays.

@SexyHawtWesterner One other important point you forgot to mention when it comes to Cosplay in the West, though I think it is mostly true in America (I'm American so I don't know the basic mindset of other countries), and that is ANY cosplay regardless of where the character is from (includes Cat Woman, Wonder Woman, Rogue, Shadow Cat and the like) is frowned upon by 'normal' people as Geeky. If I walked around dressed as Naruto, I'm a geek. Dressed as Rogue? STILL A GEEK.
um...that's one of the best gai/lee cosplays out there LOL as much as i disagree with the 'proudmoron', i do recognise some points he makes- it is in fact far easier to find fail western cosplays than eastern ones. not being racist, just telling it like it is. also, please don't generalise the 'asian' and 'western' mindset. if that were true, then those fail asian cosplays you posted at the beginning should not exist.
For the record, the Miku placed among the Kipi pictures is actually Arisa Mizuhara. I like that you broke down the actual factors that go into making a good picture. I feel a bit sad that photographers get less recognition for good work and flack for bad work in America; save for certain circles, most people put it all on the attractiveness of the model. I agree with that Kiratsukai's words too; I only wish I had such easy access here...
This infomation makes me feel sorry for the average loking Japanese cosplayers, it means it's harder for them to post pics of them just playing with friends. I personaly love Kipi's cosplays alot of the time, but people shoudlnt' use her as a basis.

Thank you for the message you sent out because honestly I've seen a lot of asian cosplayers, not ALL of them look good or "fit" the character. I mean kipi's photo's and cosplay are good but really some of the characters she cosplay don't essentially "fit" her. And that's the miniority of who she cosplayed... Maybe 2 or 3 characters didn't fit her but the rest did.

Retarded because no matter where the story setting of our Anime is we Asians still make our Anime characters [ including in Kuroshitsuji ] to be based on our own Asians facial & body form and not based on the westerners facial & body form.

I've seen videos where people have said that only asains can cosplay because the anime characters are based on the Asian physique! NOPE most anime characters have pale skin, are tall, and have large boobs and people in Europe have some of the biggest boobs! But some asain cosplays are good but so can western cosplays too!

The large eyes common in anime characters come from 1940s and 50s western cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Felix the cat and Bugs Bunny. If you look at old images of astroboy the connection is quite clear.

Good point, people dont realize that maybe the 'great cosplayer' is actually a model hired by the Production studio to cosplay for them at the con. I'm sure there are many young girls who do take their time to pull it off but lets face it, high expenses on 'model quality' and professional photography equipment costs a bundle. Then again I laugh at these 'Proud Japanese' people due to their overzealous xenophobia. Sure the west has it but that's the fringe wacky group. It seems dominant in Japan.

in japan, all races other than japanese are treated the same way as gaijin. the word "gaijin" means non-japanese. in japan, it doesn't matter whether you are asian or not. so saying japanese are asian is kinda bullshit to them and japanese don't say "I'm asian".

I agree with a lot of what you're saying its not the race but the mindset the quality the people behind the cosplay. Obviously these cosplayers who look amazing are not making this all happen on their own they have a team they have an amazing camera an amazing costume & mad photo editing software plus a crap ton of money to afford it all Not everyone in the world has that kind of money or team thus we can't always have Glammer Shot worthy cosplay pictures PS cosplay is for FUN :D

The rock lee and gai lee asian cosplays were actually really good. :D I'm a western cosplayer and I personally am inspired by asian cosplayers. They make me want to strive to make the best cosplay and find the best wig I can find. I love western and asian cosplays because they're both inspiring and personally, I think cosplay is just for fun. Live, laugh, and cosplay everybody! :)

I'll be honest, it only really annoys me that Proud only uses examples that are KAWAII DESU kind of examples :I I've never seen him use an example of a male cosplayer (to which I know SO MANY good male cosplayers) or of a female crossplaying as a male. He's just using those examples to try and drown out our examples. Go on World Cosplay.com and search up some western flagged cosplayers. Seriously. Maybe I MYSELF am not much of a good cosplayer, but most Westerners are :)

@MandyMerlot Actually MOST anime characters don't look exactly asian. They have the Asian body structure and facial proportion, but western eyes, hair, chest, and legs. I have a few mix raced friends are absolutely made for cosplay.

I'm a westoner cosplayer (For the various Miku costumes) and when people say asians cosplay better I feel really annoyed. It's unfair that all westerner cosplayers should be lumped together when some are working quite hard to have decent cosplays and good quality photos

i think westerners cosplay for fun n love towards th characters...but they are not too uptight and serious about these...while asian have a lot of passion to cosplay and they cosplay with accuracy and quality as a respect to the anime character as well as the author/production team. These are like inborn values in asians which i don expect westerners to have... so i guess its ok for them to do it their way and we asians to do it our own way. i think its perfectly fine. =)

I honestly believe that everyone can costly. Most "westerners" Try harder in their cosplays, because they have a better apprieciation for the anime/Manga. A lot of Westerners pay MORE for their costly outfits, because we can't go around the corner to a costume shop, most things we cosplay in are bought online, and made.

Also , he fails to notice , that if you actually look closely at Kipi , she wears a lot of eyeliner (to outline the eye , making it appear bigger) , and fake eyelashes , causing her eyes to appear bigger. Same for most other cosplays.

@SexyHawtWesterner One other important point you forgot to mention when it comes to Cosplay in the West, though I think it is mostly true in America (I'm American so I don't know the basic mindset of other countries), and that is ANY cosplay regardless of where the character is from (includes Cat Woman, Wonder Woman, Rogue, Shadow Cat and the like) is frowned upon by 'normal' people as Geeky. If I walked around dressed as Naruto, I'm a geek. Dressed as Rogue? STILL A GEEK.

For the record, the Miku placed among the Kipi pictures is actually Arisa Mizuhara. I like that you broke down the actual factors that go into making a good picture. I feel a bit sad that photographers get less recognition for good work and flack for bad work in America; save for certain circles, most people put it all on the attractiveness of the model. I agree with that Kiratsukai's words too; I only wish I had such easy access here...

This infomation makes me feel sorry for the average loking Japanese cosplayers, it means it's harder for them to post pics of them just playing with friends. I personaly love Kipi's cosplays alot of the time, but people shoudlnt' use her as a basis.

I mean kipi's photo's and cosplay are good but really some of the characters she cosplay don't essentially "fit" her. And that's the miniority of who she cosplayed... Maybe 2 or 3 characters didn't fit her but the rest did.
