Whoever has time before they leave I recommend if you can to get a copy of Blurjacket's manual 24th edition it's got tons of information that you will need for boot camp and navy life. Yes I know you get a copy of it in boot camp but hey if you can get one and you have a couple of months before you go read it memorize it you will have a great advantage going in to boot camp. @Lastdom200 You're kinda right. I am one week out of boot camp, and when I was in boot camp my RDC's kept saying that it is so watered down today, but they made up for as much of that as they could. I know you have been through hell at boot camp with probably just one RDC yelling at you. The most extreme we ever got was getting half of the ship's RDC's in one compartment to beat us for 2 hours, and getting underway doing mountain climbers is hell too. Something the RDC's made up.

I graduated from RTC 2 weeks ago. A lot of fun honestly after your division learns what to do, anyone going should expect to have a rough first 1-2 weeks, after you adjust to having someone tell you what to do and when to do it-all the time- it's not easy, but it isn't hard, just uncomfortable.
@st3y0n I see. When you first entered bc and when they gave you the first fitness test, did they also give you a written test over rank, 11 orders and what not? My recruiter told me that if you pass the written and fitness test they give you when you first go in, you can go up to E2 right there in bc.

I'm a Naval Sea Cadet and I went to bootcamp at Camp Dodge, Johnston, IA. And from what it looks like Navy RTC is less intense than Sea Cadet RTC is. Is that true? Fyi Central Iowa Division boot camp at Camp Dodge is the hardest Sea Cadet boot camp in the country.

@FLATFEET3 It depends on what unit you are attached to. A lot of units PT for about an hour a day 3 days per week and expect you to PT on your own. If you fail a fitness test or your body fat you will be put on a more strenuous program...
@FLATFEET3 I can tell you. You will work hard the whole time you are in boot camp. It is no party even for the physically fit. Hope you have a good memory for school too. The CC's will swear you down to the ground so you need thick skin also. More like self-inflicted punishment. Try Navy Officer Candidate School instead, at least you get treated well as a Navy officer.

@FLATFEET3 I don't think that you can say only one hour per day. I can remember our CC getting pissed off and running us for 45 minutes on several occasions, some people lost their lunch. We ran almost everywhere we went. I don't know what they do now, but we carried old rifles everywhere we went too. They were heavy. It doesn't really matter anyway because you will be able to do whatever they want you to do.
I spent my whole time in boot camp planning to kill my recruiter.
I was promised Advanced Electronics Program; instead I was to be a Boiler Technician, a snipe.
I did get Advanced Electronics Program, but I had to sign on for a six 6 year enlistment. The recruiter told me you’re going to LOVE the Navy. I the guys on my destroyer were the craziest people’s I had ever met that much was true.
The fact is the day I got out of the Navy that was the best day of my life.

I'm currently working on my BMI (being a fatass) to be able to join the NAVY, in this video; just from a glance I see a few people that clearly could not have passed said restrictions.
Can anyone provide information on this? (I'm not trying to find a way around, I need the work outs, but I'm just interested)
One a side note, my sister and her husband were both NAVY, and basically said it's 100% easy; just do what you're told, the end.

the damage control instructor at 2:40 is cool as hell. he was there when i was a recruit. lol @ the tunnel. 336 oohrah! Yes, i loved battle stations. that shit was intense in my day. what they show is not battle stations. battle stations is secret. you're not supposed to know what goes on until you get to it. so no cameras would be allowed in.

@FLATFEET3 It depends on what unit you are attached to. A lot of units PT for about an hour a day 3 days per week and expect you to PT on your own. If you fail a fitness test or your body fat you will be put on a more strenuous program...

@FLATFEET3 I can tell you. You will work hard the whole time you are in boot camp. It is no party even for the physically fit. Hope you have a good memory for school too. The CC's will swear you down to the ground so you need thick skin also. More like self-inflicted punishment. Try Navy Officer Candidate School instead, at least you get treated well as a Navy officer.

@FLATFEET3 I don't think that you can say only one hour per day. I can remember our CC getting pissed off and running us for 45 minutes on several occasions, some people lost their lunch. We ran almost everywhere we went. I don't know what they do now, but we carried old rifles everywhere we went too. They were heavy. It doesn't really matter anyway because you will be able to do whatever they want you to do.

I spent my whole time in boot camp planning to kill my recruiter.
I was promised Advanced Electronics Program; instead I was to be a Boiler Technician, a snipe.
I did get Advanced Electronics Program, but I had to sign on for a six 6 year enlistment. The recruiter told me you’re going to LOVE the Navy. I the guys on my destroyer were the craziest people’s I had ever met that much was true.
The fact is the day I got out of the Navy that was the best day of my life.

I never agreed with videos showing bootcamp of any branch. You're supposed to find out what happens when you get there not as a video to make you feel more comfortable before you get there. I have a friend who's in the Navy and he saw this vid and declared it bullshit. People don't think Navy bootcamp is hard but there's much more yelling screaming in your face than what they think. Its still bootcamp for Christ's sake

I honestly dont understand why the Navy posts this shit, or for one doesn't actually show what Bootcamp is about. The Marines can flaunt there Training off but when the Navy wants to do it they like make it seem like bullshit. it makes me pissed when i just went through Boot and it was nothing like this. Its probably also why over 20 people in my Division were dropped because they thought it was going to be this easy. Stand the fuck by when you get there if you think its like this. its not.

I'm currently working on my BMI (being a fatass) to be able to join the NAVY, in this video; just from a glance I see a few people that clearly could not have passed said restrictions.
Can anyone provide information on this? (I'm not trying to find a way around, I need the work outs, but I'm just interested)
One a side note, my sister and her husband were both NAVY, and basically said it's 100% easy; just do what you're told, the end.
