You know out of all the Puro finishers I've seen I've always didn't care for this one. It just hardly looks like a finisher that the likes of guys like Misawa or Kobashi would use.
when cena does the emerald flowsion (or a very similiar variation of it), i both mark out and curse cena out for doing it. mark out cause its great to see wwe guys like cena pay homage to the man, and curse him because of the fact that a shitty wrestler like cena would dare to do such a move.
One of the main reasons I re-watch puroresu clips like this is to listen to the commentators mark out on big moves like this. It, in-turn, makes me mark out.
I particularly love it when Misawa does it fast and smoothly (like that one on Kobashi), it just adds a little something to the move. The original on Akiyama (number 7) is clearly the basis AKI used in their wrestling games for their EFs.
Indeed. Funny story about it being in the AKI games: The first time I watched Misawa/Kobashi 6/11/1999, I knew it ended on the Flowsion, but when he hit the move, I didn't think it was over, as at that point, the Flowsion had evolved drastically from the original use of the move. Kind of surprising that they didn't go in and re-animate it for the future games.
Misawa held the Triple Crown Title on five occasions, winning and defending the belts in many of the greatest matches in All Japan Pro Wrestling history, as well as wrestling history as a whole. He was also a three time GHC World Heavyweight Champion.
Not to take away from one of my favorites, but this is not his best finisher. This seems to have a similar impact to some simpler slams, not to say it wouldn't hurt, but I am more a fan of botched Tiger Drivers.
@r4x2 The secret to make it look more devastating than a regular bodyslam is to hold the other wrestler tightly until the impact, so he fall on his head/shoulders instead of flat on his back.
When Misawa manages to do like that the Flowsions look sick. But it's logical that on some matches he would be very tired on the moment of aplying the finisher( more at the end of his career) , so he could mess it.
I'll get alot of shit for saying this, but I've never liked this move. It's supposed to look like some sick driver, but 9 times out of 10 it just ends up being a glorified back slam. None the less I'm a huge Misawa fan, so I mean no disrespect, but I've always enjoyed the tiger driver 91 and emerald flowsion kai a lot more

If life were fair, Misawa and Jumbo Tsuruta would be alive and certain WWE wrestlers who shall remain nameless would be dead.

ある意味一番三沢らしい技。
きっちり全体重乗せて威力は満点だが
落とす角度やスピードなど、いくらでも調節可能で
安全かつ説得力のあるいい技。

Man, I simply adore the fluency and grace with which he executed this brutal finisher. Almost 2 years on, and he is still greatly missed.

@danielfm Yeah, I love the ones that look like they land on their heads. Anyway he did it, it was still cool, if not devastating.
