  • So much emotion in this. Well done Kelly :')

  • This song calls for sadness and desperation in the voice and I don't feel it in Kelly's version. Too lazy and jazzy ... listen to Carrie's original version and you'll believe that she's been desperately pining for that someone to call her all her life to no avail.

  • Anybody can tell me what is the note she hits at 2:53? I feel like it's either G5 or G#5 but I don't have a keyboard to compare with. Thanks.

  • @shado474

    c#m

  • @spangari That's not a note, it's a chord..

  • @shado474 Idk what note it is but i know it was the best note in the song and made me wave my hand and establish her as one of the best singers of our generation.lol

  • I love this version. I heard Carrie's version and I just don't care for her voice. It's just my opinion - she has a nasally twang. I wish I could buy Kelly's version. She has both the vulnerability and power in her voice. I was reminded of how great a singer KC was when she did the Star Spangled Banner better than most ever sang (with the exception of the amazing Whitney Houston). Does anyone know how I can buy this version??

  • Kelly has it all. Lots of singers today can belt out note even high ones and can do lots of vocal gymnastics but some just don't sound good!! Kelly can sing the hell out any song but also has a rich tone that is so pleasing.. American Idol got it right the first time for sure. Without the credibility Kelly gave the Idol show we may not have been luck to get the other great talent that did follow

  • Jeremy Rosado Does a better job than Kelly and Carrie! He's amazing!

  • Did anyone else cry

  • omfg! this was amazing, so much emotion, i felt every word she say, i cant stop listening to it. and for all you haters fuck youu, you wouldnt know talent if it fuckin slapped you across the face, love you kelly <3

  • This cover is amazing! When Carrie sings it, it's extremely nasally. I prefer Kelly's full, round and pure sound over nasal any day!

  • The best to EVER come from Idol, Elliot Yamin, Clay Aiken second.

  • O...M...G

  • i got goosies...lol

  • kelly took away the country from one of carrie's best song..

she sang it well, however, carrie's version is more tolerable..

  • Carries amazing but kelly is almost untouchable.. And I like the fact it's powerful..showcases how good she is..she has the talent and she's showcasing it

  • I see Kelly needs to resort to her typical SCREAMING to get the job done..k..just had to take out my headphones..way to go Kelly...blew the speakers again..no wonder she is NUMBER 2..as in SHIT.

  • @kosmoboi

I don't usually care about other people's comments but this time I will say FUCK you and go suck your dick ..and eat your shit and vomit and then choke on it...

  • Carrie's version is more of a quiet, inner struggle; almost defeated. It is just as powerful as Kelly's outward explosion.

  • crazy, totally crazy!!!!

  • This is the type of song lyrically that should be sung with soul..I saw Carrie Underwood do it ..I felt no emotion at all ...Kelly brought the emotion of the lyrics out..I now feel and love it..just don't think this type of song is for Carrie..

  • @adnilxa I agree 100 %

  • this is real?? o.O!!

  • anyone know where i can find a dl for this?

  • i think carries version was missing something. i think this song fits Kellys' vocals a little more. i like carries version tho. but if i had to pick, i would choose this one.

  • @ottoman141516 carrie's version is too mechanical.. with the lyrics being as heart breaking as it is, kelly's bluesy version really brings out the emotion in the song..

  • @junkybox YES!!!!! a lot more shades in the song than carries version.... carries version is so ..... ughh whats the word..... flatline.... it doesnt change, its constant throughout. Kelly puts variety in the song

  • this was really good

  • I didn't like this... was so screamed... Jesus!

I don't like Carrie but her softness makes this song perfect.

  • I really prefer carrie's but i have to say this is amazing

  • She is so phenomenal. The voice of a generation without question.

Carrie is a talented young woman but no one holds a candle to Ms. Clarkson.

  • Look at this picture, isn't she lovely? *_*

  • Like comparing apples to oranges. Totally different styles of singing. The comparisons are fucking stupid. Period.

  • This performance is like a "stop the comparisons, here's the proof that I'm the best Idol EVER". lol

  • I have heard Carrie sing this song live and it was awesome! But I think Kelly may have sang it better than Carrie here. They both are awesome tho

  • the original is amazing. carrie is AMAZING. and kelly sounds amazing in this too. i think theyre both so different versions. they both do an amazing job

  • ♥.♥ tears...

  • Emotion that carrie doesn't possess

  • The original version is not even near that one. Amazing! Kelly is the best voice of this generation!

  • I didn't think it were possible, but this is even better than the performance at the Troubadour! <3

  • just so fucking great...love the vocals and the emotion. a little different. carrie's version was very pleading; kelly's was realization, pleading, and hopeful but some resolve

  • ES ALGO HERMOSO OBVIAMENTE ES MEJOR QUE CARRIE

  • just wonderful....much better than Carrie Underwood....

  • Way better than the original.... But shouldnt it be Carrie covering Kelly? ... Whats next? Kelly will be singing to sold out bars and county fairs...

  • rarely do people do better than the the original on covers, but when i saw this i said this is how u outdo the original, I dont care what anyone says, she sang this better than carrie underwood to me. i felt it, it was emotional, one of the best vocals ever, if she is not in the top 5 best belters and voices out there then idk who is!

  • @anthill927 I completely agree! There's no question that Kelly out-sings Carrie, but it's especially apparent in this cover of this beautiful song! This performance on VH1 was everything you said it was and IMO was one of Kelly's very best!

  • @anthill927 adele

  • @anthill927 i agree 100%!!!!!!!

  • @anthill927 She definitely sings this wayyyyy better than Carrie. Just being honest. She can sustain the notes better and she sings it with more emotion. She feels it, not just belts it.

  • @Dean814 And I like carrie's version, but i LIVEEE for powerful singers and belters because in my opinion its so rare, especially to do it right without screaming and she does it, and makes me feel the song.

  • Kelly sure does this Carrie song justice. Fantastic!

  • awesome!

  • A- Fuckn - Amazing

  • Can't stop listening.

  • That's how Kelly does it! Sing it!
