@AaronWelchMusic not with pod 2.0 by itself, I used heavy equing in post-production (vst). Maybe if you used an graphic eq pedal or rack unit you could increase the djent factor of the pod
have you already tried to put a tubescreamer in front of the amp?(in the pod i mean) maybe that would sound more djenty. ivetried it once and it sounded really meshuggahish
If anyone whants too play like meshuggah then practice your ass off. THis dude here has done it. A little more simplified but still cool. Learn some frekrik style lead for next time. I'd recommend looking up the jazz musians on you-tube and "The Dillinger Escape PLan's" Lead axman. Rock on!
Hah, POD 2.0 can be little obsolete, but still kicks major arse. Great sounds you have there. Can I ask about about amp models and eq/effect settings?
I recall I used the modern higain setting (which is a Soldano someting) with mids around 80%, bass around 50% and treble somewhere in between. Also used some compressor while recording. And of course some eq effects after recording. Oh, and of course I recorded two rhythms. That's about it :D
they are D'addario .011 gauge strings on that guitar. Although in this I use that gauge, I recommend to try thicker strings and maybe a baritone (27" scale) guitar for tunings this low.
Thanks for your compliment. The tuning.. well the top 3 strings don't really matter. The lower 3 instead.. 6th is F#, 5th C# and 4th F#. So it's kind of a "drop-F#" if you will :D
The funny thing is that the guitar is a strat type guitar with normal 25.5" scale and the strings are .011 gauge. You can make your own conclusions of that, I think it's somewhat working formula
Thanks :) The program seen here is called Cakewalk Sonar 4.0. The drums are created with Toontrack EZdrummer plugin with Drumkit From Hell -expansion pack.
this was good, the only critique i have is some of the timing seemed a little off.

May I ask how you get so much djenty goodness from a POD 2.0?

do you use in thing other than the pod? like a DI or something or is it just the pod via USB?
XDearxxDiaryX 2 years ago
Nowadays I use pod studio gx w/ pod farm via usb. In this session I plugged my pod 2.0 straight into the line input of my soundcard.

@kodoku42 Strats and fender guitars in general have incredible tone for this kinda djenty stuff. A lot of people wouldn't think so at first.
