  • I couldn't help but post this after I saw all the fighting here. Ok, if you want to know why our church did this, let me tell you. This is in no way an affront to God, this was one small part of a 5 day retreat to Panama City. Our church does read the bible every week, in the main service and the teenage program. On the trip, we had 4 hours of service a day for 5 days. This was just a small part. We lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Sincerely, Someone who was on this trip.

  • I imagine very little of these people actually read the bible...it is the world, recruiting the world

  • so this is what the modern church is doing? I imagine God is pleased with all of you

  • was this a worship service?

  • really people. how can you say that this is an affront to God when David danced complllllllletely nakeddddd in the street and God said that he was in the right? the Bible also says that sin is in the heart, not necessarily the action. so i think that if David can dance around nude and still honor God, north point can dance for the glory of God at a pool.

  • This is an affront to God and to his Word. This isn't a church this just a group of people trying to be part of the world. "My people perish for a lack of knowledge." Those who sit under whoever teaches this large group of people have not been preaching the true gospel. The power of the Holy Spirit is not in secular music or lewd dress and conduct. Nor is it trying to evangelize the world without the message of the Cross and Christ crucified.

  • my sister, me, and my sisters bf were all in this! its amazing tht something i helped create made the world record! thumbs up if ur happy it made the world record to!

  • Pray God, mightier than us, will prevent our tainting of His name in this world

  • I was not at this event but i have friends that went and they came back with more friendships built on the experiences like this. And now as friends they go through bible study and service together. Why now would you judge the movements of an entire church when you have the most minimal information about it or its members? In fact this whole thread is shameful and one more reason for a nonbeliever to laugh at Christianity and walk further away.

  • @Gibbs154

Because Jesus did it(see Revelation and the rebukes to the 7 churches)--and He did it because He loved them and wanted them to stay on the right path. Oh, and we're commanded to do it(Eph 5:11) ... read the Scriptures. Biblical ignorance is astounding among those who own their own Bibles---if you had no Bibles, I would understand to a degree, but you need to accept Scriptural correction--we do it in LOVE, we don't want others to be mis-leading by claiming His name in vain.

  • I think we need to stop looking so focused in on scripture and see the bigger picture of how we are to live as christians and further God's kingdom to the lost. By focusing on "not loving the world or anything in it" line for line we miss that Jesus tells us to love everyone, neighbors enemies everyone.

  • Glad you guys had fun with it but this was pretty weak

  • Everyone needs to chill. This wasn't done in "Savior of christ" we did it to remember that this might be the last "The Walk" before they would have to split into two groups. It was pure legitness. now whos the kid flipping about a girl wearing a bikini? SO WHAT? ITS A POOL!

  • @FTTLPride

Go read Titus 2, women who dress that way blaspheme the Word of God---that's a SERIOUS offense worthy of damnation. Don't be fooled, the great apostasy sure seems to be here and now--read your Scriptures on your own. And don't think I'm just picking on the women, the men are dressed immodestly also... have you not read Matthew 18:6? If you're CAUSING others to stumble by dressing immodestly with knowledge, you're better off with a millstone... take Jesus' words seriously.

  • This is truly sad!!! I think I feel more for these brothers and sisters than the lost souls!!! They at least have some hope of repentence but this poor fools are lost; just as their Pastor is biblical...NOT!! Nothing but demonic music was used to attrack people! What does Darkness have to do with LIGHT? Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand!!

  • I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

  • What a joke and a pathetic attempt at that. How was this a ministry or attempt to present the gospel? By using the world's music? Today's mega church are descending into more and more deception. It's sad to see. When will real christians present the real gospel to a lost and dying world? Like dancing at a pool to secular music caused anyone to meet church. Pathetic. But the river flows downstream

  • @endtimejeremiah this was simply supposed to be an activity that the whole church could do together in order to have fun and enjoy ourselves.

  • @lightswillguide1 riiiiiiiight. Seriously, consider the next questions: So the leadership chose the world's music to have fun to? And that's Christlike? Did you know that Christians can have fun too? But for some reason, it's always using the world's means to have fun. Romans 12:2 says do not be conformed to this world. I would say that this is conforming to the T. 1 John 2:15 says Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

  • @endtimejeremiah I did not know that dancing to a choreographed routine (a modest one at that) and having a good time with people who love Jesus is classified as conforming to the world. I believe that God has placed us on this Earth for a reason, and having the blessing of being able to dance is something that one should celebrate!

  • @lightswillguide1 You're right. There is nothing wrong with it. As long as you magnify Christ. And how did the "choreographed routine" glorify Christ? Name one song in there that was by a "Christian" artist. Dance, dance away, dance like David did. But do it for the Lord. If you think that this is magnifying God in any manner, you are deceived beyond reason. I agree, Dance UNTO the Lord. Don't dance to the world's music. Come on! Really?

  • @endtimejeremiah so if the dance is not magnifying the Lord, then why are you watching it?

  • @lightswillguide1 You are right. Why would I waste my time watching this? Actually, I only watched about 30 seconds because it's so asinine. I pity you that you see nothing wrong with using the world's music and the world's standards to have a good time. What's next for you? A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

  • @lightswillguide1

Yep, fine--just make sure the women who were dressed in glorified underwear(bikinis) and the men who had no shirts or short shorts on to put some more clothes on... they're showing to others what's not for them to see, only for their husbands/wives. This is immodesty and according to Titus 2 for women it's blasphemy of the Word of God. Men too, repent! I notice not all of them were like that, so praise God some were clothed--but others need to correct the immodest in love.

  • @droptozro everyone who was a part of the church was in one pieces - and what else shall one where to the beach? please explain?

  • @lightswillguide1

I saw others dancing along that were in bikinis--not 1 pieces. :29 shows a few men without shirts and a girl basically showing all her legs from the high thighs. :36 short shorts :52 in the middle is not a 1 piece at all. 1:24 shows an elder lady with a full back showing with bikini straps. The entire video is full of multiple men dressed immodestly also.

Wear clothing, or don't go swimming--you wouldn't walk around the city streets in underwear, don't do it there.

  • @droptozro I will say girls shouldn't have worn bikinis, but oh well, this trip has passed.

Also, boys came without shirts because, we were at a pool. Watch the end again, watch the people jump in.

  • @Skwirlking

Well then, if you're someone at this church... then you should address this with your church then. It's easy to get caught up in a "contextual" thing when it comes to bikinis--since many women wear them to the pool/beach, and yet the fact is most women(even the more modest worldly women) wouldn't dare be caught in their underwear out on the streets in a city. Yet it's the same type of dress truly, just be discerning please of good/evil, it's a sign of spiritual maturity. God bless

  • @droptozro Okay, i thought about fixing what I said, but I didn't want to post too much or re-type the entire thing. Basically the dress code for the trip accounted for teenage girls to be in one-piece bathing suits. I decided to try to solve as many arguments as I could and left out something doing too much at once. Anyway, I'm not saying no one can wear bikinis, nothing like that. It's a person's decision as to what they'll wear, and I don't find bikinis wrong in my opinion.

  • @Skwirlking

"and I don't find bikinis wrong in my opinion"

    You're a Christian, correct?

"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with modesty and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;" 1 Tim 2:9

If a bikini is not immodest clothing... what is modest apparel? And don't say "nude," because that's not apparel.

Do you have no love for brothers, or for others? That one could show off their skin and cause another to stumble? no way.

  • @droptozro

"...easy to get caught up in a 'contextual' thing when it comes to bikinis..."

I'm sorry, I am a teenager in this group and I am just now reading the bible in order, and I can fairly say I haven't read that before. I never thought of bikinis as immodest apparel before, just common swimwear. Many people in my family wear gold and pearls, my sister keeps her hair braided on occasion, so I never thought of it. I do care for others, I never heard bikinis, gold, and braided hair were bad.

  • @Skwirlking

"just common swimwear"--it would be common in the context of swimming, yes--but Christians are not like the world. We're to be chaste, and careful in how we dress. Bikinis are glorified underwear and most women wouldn't wear them in any other context in public other than swimming.

You are a young woman, and still learning the Scriptures---maybe I could have my wife speak with you on here, so she could maybe explain more clearly as she's learned to be more modest. God bless

  • @droptozro I will begin with the fact that i am a teenage boy ( hence the 'king' in this nickname i gave myself when i was 10 and have been too lazy to think of a new one) and i thought you were a girl, i just dont mind talking about my faith. But also, they were swimming, they just decided to do this flash mob by the pool, so some showed up in bikinis to swim immediately afterwards. In fact, I'll watch again, but the teenage girls should only be wearing one-piece swimwear.

  • @Skwirlking

Oooh I'm sorry! Guess we both had the wrong impression haha

But either way, keep reading the Scriptures young brother... study and obey what you read. When you start acting out what our Lord says, the Scriptures come alive. Don't ignore the OT also, many Christians skip over this and think it's unimportant--but that is a woeful mistake... if one doesn't understand the OT and prophets, it's highly likely they will fail to understand the NT.

  • @Skwirlking

It's good you're open about your faith, you sound quite humble also. Keep that quality before your God and others, we're to be bold--but also as children says Jesus(Matt 18:3). Please think about those verses, dwell on the fact that Jesus said woe to those who cause stumbling(Matt 18:7, Luke 17:1)... This is why it's bad for a Christian woman to wear such revealing clothing in public, care must be taken to not cause others to lust after oneself. God bless
