  • Dude - We don't have many Hammonds in the UK - Take it from me, this is awesome stuff. The degenerates who say otherwise know nothing. Good stuff :-)

  • really nice spontaneous playing. loved it.

  • I dig the knotty-pine walls. Ring-a-ding-ding, baby.

  • You have the equipment .... go look at this for a sensible version ... well within your capabilities :-) ... watch?v=G2LzSItsQ80

  • @SearchBucket

You mean the version without heart? The version without personality, the version who is 100% pitch, bang, bong spot on to the original? Yeah talk about art, you can sound just like the guy who wrote the organ part (Matthew Charles Fisher). You also think a person who paints a piece of art, then another one does the exact same painting is skill? No, and if this guy playing only heard the song once and just knew how it went through out AND could improvise you IS PUUURE GENIUS!!!!!!

  • This is real art.

  • very nice! Did you upload any more vids of your dad playing?

  • KA-KA KA-KA SOUNDS LIKE I TOOK A SHIT IN A PALE INSTEAD OF WHITER SHADE OF PALE. REALLY SMELLY!

  • No matter what year it is, it puts the newer keyboards to shame.....

  • Well i enjoyed it, and if I were you, I would ignore all the negative comments from the idiots who couldn't play a penny whistle to save their pathetic lives !

  • Was it the first time you touched something like an organ ? Very bad indeed.

  • Very Bad !!!!!!!!!!!! Boardkiller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well done, I enjoyed this video....now I obviously need to go practice....lol

  • wow, that dude is a BAD ASS!.. wow

  • Great stuff....keep this great sound alive!

  • you are awesome my friend

  • bravo

  • sounds awesome.

  • Good!

  • Sounds PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tell you what.. This guy sure enjoys playing the Hammond and it shows. This is what YouTube is all about.. showing your stuff and sounding great. Hope you post lots more.

  • very good! this guy is realy good, I like it very much

  • Great!!!

  • Of course the original was recorded on an M100 instead of a B3.

  • Wonderful sound! And good interpretation! :D

  • Very funky awesome rendition of one of my favorite songs! Definitely takes it in a different way than I see it. Either way it's great.

  • You totally rock. How much????

  • How much??? You rock!

  • @Beaucairn Thanks, But it's not for sale.

  • awesome leslie!!! love that tremolo!!!

  • of course there nothing that can beat the real thing B3 is the best

  • i would kill for chops like that

  • Absolutely awe-inspiring.

  • hearing a digital B3 clone is so depressing after hearing the real thing

  • That is great! I love your interpertation of the song.

Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing sounds as good as a B-3 with a Leslie!

    Bravo!

  • exellent

where are you guys come from?

Could you play smth from John Lord?

  • Minable...!

  • nice

  • nul

  • WOWEE!! Your'e amazing!!! How much for the Hammond???

  • @Beaucairn - I think it's too much :( They are about anything starting from 10 000 $ + the shipping (which could cost a fortune).

  • Hey, everyone! Sorry I haven't been on. I saw the comments made by the UK guy. Lol. First of all, my dad played that song instantly after being asked and was just messing around. He's a great pianist and is a playing an old hammond that isn't in the best condition. He can run circles around any "famous" musician and I will soon put up some high quality videos of him playing. If you guys have any requests, I'm sure he'll play a song for you!

  • Sooo, Mr. TonyUK...looks like you pretty much made a fool of yourself here didn't you? Don't forget, I still have a collection of some of your very bizarre and revealing comments you made elsewhere that I will be glad to display to everyone here if you cause any more of your own 'crap.' Same goes for your alter-ego MattScottUK.

  • @damoninnyc If you sold your B2 in 1977, you'd be... 53 or so, and your dad would then be al least 70. Seems he can hold his own on an organ very well, altough it looks like he is a bit out of practice.

Have him study some songs and record them in good quality. I'm sure it's going to sound awesome :) Good luck with the B3, be it a 57 or 70's model; doesn't matter if taken good care of :)

  • @damoninnyc I'm glad the idiot UK guy is gone, he had some problems, that's for sure. How about Satin Doll for a request?

  • @damoninnyc YOU TELL THEM! They are just jealous. Organ does noeed some TLC. It looks like it has not been cleaned or serviced for a while.Your dad played just fine. The problem is that all those critics don't even have a Casio and are just jealous. Same with "theoratical organists".If they don't like it let them fo somewhere else and don't listen.Just blow their comments out! Thank you for posting.

  • All the above comments very much reminds me of bullying on various websites and at schools these days. SAD really !! Grow up. I enjoyed the music.

  • @douglasnixon : You're telling the mental midgets of You Tube to grow up? Talk about mission impossible! Thanks for this video!

  • So you're dumb?

Machine? You mean the organ itself...

    Buttons? You mean the drawbars...

    Idiot!

  • @LinkBulletBill They are likely using a analogue drum machine such as the Auto Vari 64 that had buttons which were color coded. You can hear him call out colors to his wife. Yes some organs had such drum synthesis on board. But this obviously did not, which is why it was being operated by another person off screen. Dont be so quick to call others dumb.

  • @jonnda

I replied someone... Quoting from him: "Fiddling with on the machine with those buttons on the keyboard won't make you look any better - Rubbish!" something like that. This is a Hammond B3, not a kid's organ with a drum synthesizer. That person I replied was an obvious troll, are you?

  • @LinkBulletBill Relax I am not a troll. Your comment was singled out and exalted by youtube and I respond to it that context. I later realized before I received your reply that there was a troll war going on, but my computer was on the fritz and I could not delete it. Besides if I was an obvious troll, you would not have to ask.

  • @jonnda

I never said you were an obvious troll.... What I meant are u a troll, but now I have my answer...

  • Awesome!

  • hey dude, this ain't carnegie hall ya know.

  • I think someone is taking YouTube way to seriously.

  • Good one Penschek! Some people just don't understand Youtube. Mr. Tony07UK must be an out of work critic who now resorts to picking on youtube organ hobbyists. So what does Tony07UK do for an encore after publicly embarrassing himself? Why of course, he entertains us with his own flawless version of A Whiter Shade of Pale and shows us all how its supposed to be played! I'm sure he'll make all the right guesses on which 'buttons to fiddle with!' - Fact!

  • lol!!! does he know what he's doing? After all, he refers to a hammond organ as a 'machine' and the drawbars as 'buttons! LOL!

  • No, he doesn't know what he's doing. He's actually a lonely, unhappy troll that takes pleasure in insulting people on youtube. He'll be apologizing soon. Won't you , Tony/Matt? And when you do, you'll see a new light open up in your world!

  • You were right, Sanjaya. Tony 07UK is a troll...and a very insecure one at that. I found many comments he's made on other videos. claims he's addicted to surfing youtube and insulting people, etc. I could detail more, but won't.. If he causes any more problems here, I will post them for all to see. He also admits that Tony07UK and MattScottUK are the same person. kind of figured that. No big deal...he's lonely and just wants attention. Pretty much explains his sad behavior.

  • Likewise I dug up a few of his comments myself. Very interesting. No sense in embarrassing him further. Let's just leave the guy alone to his lonely existence. Trolls are like stray animals...feed them once and they just come back for more. I'll write Damon an apology for all the trash on his channel. He's been off a few weeks, boy will he have a job cleaning up this sorry mess. First thing he needs to do is put a block on these two U.K. troublemaker accounts.

  • Great playing Alex.

You are so blessed to have this talent.

    Love that Hammond.

    Maureen

  • love the watch coaster

  • That was awesome! Different sounds to it made it sound even cooler! Great Job =)

  • Super !

  • The best Hammond in my mind. The B3. The same as Peter Bardens used to play on in Camel.

  • great

  • on reconnait vraiment le "CLICK" du hammond..

  • your dad is a rock star, and your mom on the drum machine makes this just about the most adorable thing I've ever seen.

  • Excellent styling, Sir.

  • Well done! But just to let you know your B-3 is not a 1957! This model is within 1969 and 1974 because you have the pilot light the angular drawbars and the later style lock hole on the right side of your organ. You could know the year with the serial number inside the organ.

  • Thanks. My wife bought me this B3 for Father's Day, 2008. She knows nothing about Hammonds and was told it was a 1957. The last Hammond I owned, a B2, I sold in 1977. What a surprise I had when I saw it in my waiting room! I checked the Serial Number. It's C-121297. If you know anything about it, please let me know. I appreciate any information you can give me.

    Alex

  • Dear Alex,

Thanks for your reply. With the serial number that you supplied I am 110% confident that your organ is a 1971! Your wife is a remarkable woman and very nice too! My organ is almost identical with yours in its look because I have the pilot light and the angular drawbars with footages. My organ comes from 1969 the first year Hammond decided to install angular drawbar knobs. If you love Hammonds you might be interested in my website. Talk to you later. Regards, Pat

  • You know you stuff!

  • it would be better without the drum machine.

  • There's always someone who has to bring a negative light to something fun.

  • just great

  • wow great i love your sound you have on your b3 what are your settings i want to set my b3 like your sound your the man!!!

  • Meant, "Sounding great" I love to hear all the different styles of B3 and keyboard players. Thanks for uploading this.

  • That is sound great! Good job!
