@Oder1001 What is often forgotten is that Ian Smith had already begun the process of majority-rule in Zimbabwe-Rhodesia. A moderate black majority would have run the country and the institutions that had made the country a success would have been retained. All Mugabe, like most African tin pot dictators did, was use the power of the state in tribal rivalry/warfare. Następnie Mugabe wygnał białych z Rodezji, a W RPA zaczął sie odwrócony aparthaid (czarni dyskryminują białych). Oba kraje schodzą teraz na dno. Rasizm w RPA to jeden wielki mit. Sekregacja polegała jedynie na wydzielaniu stef dla białych i dla czarnych (biali mieli co prawda lepsze). Ale kraj był na poziomie Europy. In countries such as Namibia there does seem to be a great deal of hope as, if nothing else, social stability seems to be holding. Things in other countries might also be better if they had their debts forgiven and were allowed to invest properly in education and healthcare. The IMF/World bank really did manage to make things bad for a lot of people there.

A moderate black majority would have run the country and the institutions that had made the country a success would have been retained. As it was, the social fabric was torn and the worst of both worlds was achieved, mostly as a result of ill-conceived colonial policy from the onset of white rule in Africa. Much of what happened after independence was not, however, the sole fault of whites -- and the constant blame is tiring.

Only in the cases of Mexico, where there was a large and advanced civilisation, or Guatemala where the climate was harsh, were they able to somehow hold onto their own cultures. I met a very pretty and charming girl today. She said she was from Zimbabwe, I was a bit surprised since she was white.
