I'm looking at an old Hondo Alien headless bass on craigslist. The owner just called me back and I might be able to get it for a great price. If so I will grab it. It's a copy of the Kramer canoe paddle. I like them because they don't need the double ball end strings like Steinberger's. I just want something I can leave at our studio but also it will come in handy on cramped stages or what ever.
I picked up a Hondo deluxe 830 for 50 buck off an old lady's closet it needed a little TLC but now is amazing. got a very old school sound and feeling to it. I love vintage and used instruments the rule!
Sounds pretty good, did you get it new? What do you think of it? I might get one from early 80's so any help or reference would be much appreciated, Bye!

I found a Hondo Zebra bass and it's a p/j style but there are 2 jazz pickups right together on the bridge. Love it!
