This is a rather short sighted video, perhaps that's why it's a 'future short.' The fact is, humanity will eventually move beyond consumption till depletition and turn to substanable forces, unfortunantly modern economic conditions insist that we continue with the defacto state with slow progress towards renewables. When you consider, however, that in a 100 years we've gone from digging up coal and burning it to hydrogen fuel and the power of fusion, I really don't see what the concern is for.
