I have the e700 Linux series. Does anyone know of a way I could get a different OS on this thing or even some programs/games I could put on it? I've tried playing some flash games on it but they don't seem to work. It seems like a cool little device but The Linux on it seems extremely restricted, and I cant get much done on it.

Why did they even bother with windows ce. They should have just used android, it would have been cheaper and better.

Android sucks on this machine. There arn't any released versions running any versions higher than 1.6.

There's a 1.9 version, but due to the laptop's battery monitoring problem, the laptop can't be unplugged from the AC with that OS.

BTW, The Android browser is FKING slow. The games are OK, but 1.6 doesn't come with android market.

Stay with WinCE. There are many great emulators for it and hundreds of other powerful tools.

I don't mind it looking rather ugly.

Sorry, I don't think so. You know the HD is just 2gb. It will leave no space if it loads the windows xp.

You can find many apps which support windows CE.

The problem is the hardware is not PC compatible it is all PDA hardware.
