I am a Nvidia fan as well .... but the last 28 nm gpu from ATI is not bad at all....the problem on ATI cards are the drivers !! and not the cards ...true the sepecs are to overpower four what the cards are capabile to show in the gameplay...four ex. 2048 cuda chanels on the 7970 but NO Games Support PhysX and CUDA .... so whats the point whit the big numbers ???? answer : the kids pay 700 euro four a graphic card ...witch is not bether then a gtx 470 when it comes to play

@LAURKAMY PhysX works but only on Nvidia cards however, you don't get more details in the game than the developer put there for you. PhysX are more like a key that Nvidia bought to unlock those physics in certain games.

For example in Batman Gotham City you've got flags waving with PhysX, but not with PhysX turned off or with an AMD card.

This is the model we get from Nvidia, they bribe game developers to get access to certain details in games. But what is CUDA?

@PsiloCybinDreamX no the 6000 series is actually not as optimized for gaming... every sub series is higher performance on the 5000 series... like the 6870 would replace the 5770 the 6950 replaces the 5850... I dont know why amd did this but they did

@sqelletor actually dual gpu's from ati and nvidia both have problems like that its just called scaling, even using single gpu's in sli or crossfire can have similar problems.I had a gtx295 dual gpu card fron nvidia and it got hot as fuck and the screen flickered on certain games. either machinima or linus i forget did a 4 way sli benhc using the gtx 580's and ended up getting the same fps with 3 and lost fps using 4.both companies have driver issues

The performance is good, but for me it really comes down to nvidia having MUCH better drivers. I'm not paying loads of cash for buggy exceptions all the time, especially when games launch.

The first time the GPU gets in on the pc era for 2D design was with the Photoshop Cs3 cuda beta and After Efx also... Then the Adobe starts to use the hardware with entire Cs4 and Cs5... The CUDA from Nvidia was a lot better than the OpenCL from ATI... But I have to admit... You get a better card from gaming from Ati with less price... If you work with you pc too... Goes Nvidia...

@w1p30ut3r CUDA comes from 2007 with the 8800 GTX, and yes CUDA support for photoshop started on CS3. But in regards to "ATI is for gaming", depends. They are both great for games. As i stated, tesselation on Nvidia Fermi is superior than ATI and as you know, it´s a Directx 11 feature and of coursem Nvidia has better drivers, and better GPGPU computing with CUDA + OpenCL. I would put the thing this way. ATI is great in games (drivers suck), and Nvidia are excelent in everything!
