Dead Island was pretty, but Chrome (the original game by Techland that started the Chrome Engine) was possibly one of the ugliest game I have ever seen.
@roxxphatcox I mean yeah.. The gameplay was fun but there were a lot of mechanics in the game that kinda ruined it. The money for example. I mean spending half your money to repair a sword you can use for 10 minutes.. It's a lil rediculous. But the gameplay itself, was great.

I can't believe only 3 games have been made with this engine since 2009. The visuals are stunning to say the least. And, I don't care to get into a pissing contest about one game engine vs another, all the major ones look great too. There should have been at least 10 games that used this engine by now though. smh
I don't care what engine it is as long as its not Unreal Engine I am happy. Have to play Hunted: the demon forge and you know you want something else for game engines.

in all honesty, i was seriously impressed when i first saw ChromeEngine4 for the first time. Never heard of the developer, and to see something as visually impressive as this on console (bear in mind this was before CryEngine3 was around) was a bit of a shock...to me at least. A pleasant surprise when i first played Sniper: Ghost Warrior :)
i really don't get why ppl fanboy so much about these engines... attention to detail is what matters in the long run, not how realistic the lighting is. of course, that is always a nice plus :)
i dont know why ppl are comparing engines wen in the end all it matters is wat type of games is bein made with it. if there is no great mechanic behind the actual gameplay and story then the game just suck ass. crysis 2 just was plain ok the 1st was the best another than the mulitplayer. i like to see more developers use this chrome engine more with an update version. it looks great though.

Chrome, well Tehland was realy young company, also making engine/game in Poland is REALY HARD do the nature of our bureaucracy and money problems. Still they try and create some good titles. Fable was a big disappointment for me. Fun to play, but not as fun playing it in my head for the 6 months before it came out.
Peter Molyneaux made it prettier in my head and then kicked me back into the 'real' world.

in all honesty, i was seriously impressed when i first saw ChromeEngine4 for the first time. Never heard of the developer, and to see something as visually impressive as this on console (bear in mind this was before CryEngine3 was around) was a bit of a shock...to me at least. A pleasant surprise when i first played Sniper: Ghost Warrior :)

i dont know why ppl are comparing engines wen in the end all it matters is wat type of games is bein made with it. if there is no great mechanic behind the actual gameplay and story then the game just suck ass. crysis 2 just was plain ok the 1st was the best another than the mulitplayer. i like to see more developers use this chrome engine more with an update version. it looks great though.

Chrome, well Tehland was realy young company, also making engine/game in Poland is REALY HARD do the nature of our bureaucracy and money problems. Still they try and create some good titles. Chrome was even older than this, first chrome was very old, chrome "4" was just an updated ver. and i was wrong, its older than 2008 but who cares.
I know Cryengine 3 is castrated CryEngine 2, its becouse consoles are such shit.

...BUT for what cost? If Chrome developer wants they too can create low performance great looking engine.
