I LOVE THIS COLLECTION! I swear this entire fall-winter 2007/2008 season, most of the fashion houses presented such breathtaking collections! On the top of my head: Balenciaga, McQueen, Dior, Prada. YSL, Lanvin, Hermes, Jil Sander. What a remarkable season it was.

This is the height of Haute Coulture. This show was YSL's magnum opus, I actually sat and cried during this show as I had realised YSL had reached his pinnacle of genius.

It reminded me of Pierre Poubelle's Winter collection in 1949. Such elegance and "boulajalese".

Au revoir Monsier Saint Laurent.

Yves Saint Laurent was one of the most influential designers of the 20th century along

with Coco Chanel and Christian Dior, he was the last of their generation. He will always be remembered as he revolutionized fashion with his new ideas for women. We will always remember him and appreciate his efforts and enormous contributions. Paris is Fashion Capital Today because of desingers like Yves Saint LAurent.

One of the better collections of the season; as ugly as that barbourism was, the French houses (Ricci, Chanel, Saint Laurent) seemed to interperet it the best. But then again, don't the French always? I suppose France isn't considered the nerve of fashion for nothing.
