After you put Magus in the first party position, use the PAR codes 2E2981EE and 2E2982EE to make the second and third characters disappear. (By the way, I'd also recommend trying 2E298106 and 2E298206...that's pretty funny to see.) Be careful, though--some parts of the game (mainly those where more than one character is expected, or where a certain character is "required" to be in the party) can freeze with this code.

with magus's death scythe(last scythe) his attack power goes 5x normal with each member either dead or not with him, so he does best base damage in the game if everyone elese is gone/dead, kinda cheap but it works better than black flare

@potts0666 - u can only solo with crono in the real game when u finally get new game + u let marle get thrown away into the past (at the very beginning of the game) then enter the right pod ---- soloing with any other character can only done via game genie

When you are at the point where you are in an icy field (I believe it is after Zala), go to the north and you should see Magus at the cliff. Talk to him - if you fight him and win he'll die. Choose not to fight him and he'll join you.

You must have played a "New Game +". There's only 2 ways to get this ending and skip the part where Crono disappears: a New Game +, or beating Lavos earlier than expected (for example, if you beat him at the Ocean Palace where you're expected to lose).

Okay, you have to play through the whole Ocean Palace and Blackbird sequence. Then go to the North Cape on Earthbound Isle WITH FROG!!! Say you don't want to fight and he'll come with you.

after Chrono dies you must go to the North Cape in the Ice Age time I forgot what its called and Magus will be there. You have to have Frog in the party and say you don't want to fight him and walk away then he will join and tell you how to resseruct Chrono. You could also kill him and after the game ends Frog will be Glenn in the ending and Lucca says hes cute which is funny since when he was a frog she was all creeped out at first.

Not true my friend, you can "solo" with anybody, just get your party members to 1hp and don't use them, they'll be out for the rest ofthe fight and it's technically a "solo"

Could be an ending that was programmed in and forgotten. It's like the Reunion ending except Magus is still alive and Frog isn't human.

I don't know if you could get this ending, but it'd probably require you to simply forgive Magus instead of killing him, but not revive Chrono for the final fight. That's your best bet without cheats!

You can solo with Crono without cheating. Just start a New Game + and then take the portal at the Fair.

To solo with anyone else, yes, you do have to use PAR codes.

It's not important which characters defeat Lavos, you just have to have Crono staying dead. When I played the game for the first time, I was REALLY glad I had made the clone at the fair. Marle or Lucca (depending on the party) have very emotional scenes when Crono is resurrected.

Who would have thought the stupid clone would be this important? I never managed to beat the third challenge of the Tent of Horrors, though. Heard you can get yet another ending with it.

The prize for the 3rd challenge is Cat Food. You can use it to feed Crono's cat. Keep feeding it and you'll eventually get more cats--up to 15 if I remember correctly. One of them (the 12th one?) even looks like Alfador...

Anyway, the only way this affects the ending is that more cats appear.

Correction, the prize for the 3rd challenge is another cat (white, now you have a yellow cat and white cat at home, fun). Beat any challenge again and the prize will be cat food (amount varies by challenges).

to Pyradonis. It does affect the ending if you feed or don't feed your cat(s). If you feed your cat(s), then the cat(s) and your mom won't run into the portal in the end. As a result, Chrono, Marle, and Lucca will not take the Epoch to go through time again.

I hate that stupid ending, I try to go for different endings each time I play it, but the best ending of the game is... well... when everyone is there, Crono is alive, Magus is with you, all that jazz.

Another cool one is if you go to New Game+ and beat Lavos at the very start of the game with Crono being all super leveled with all the rainbow gear and stuff, that is a pretty good ending, hard to get, but good.
