You don't NEED Backpresure. What you NEED is for it to have a good flow. 3" pipe on a NA honda will just cause the exhaust fumes to jump around the pipe and not really give you the results you are looking for because its jumbled up. A 2 1/4 pipe though would cause a nice smooth flow. I'm about to put a magnaflow xl turbo 2 1/4 on my integra with a 2 1/4 cat. I can't wait to hear it! Hope its quiet!
@matking89 youre obviously not a car guy. its not about the car, its about the bond you have with your car. when you care about it you wanna take care of it. and with these mods hes not spendin money hes savin money. might take him a bit to get his money back, but down the road its definately worth it. plus it sounds fuckin mean.
yes it does, but decreases your horsepower because, wat a converter does is create back pressure to the motor giving it more power, if you have a turbo, then the turbo provides the pressure so you could take it out.
wrong, if you have an exhaust system that is too big for your car, lets say 2.5 - 3.0" on a civic you will have less power because of lack of BP. But, if u have a 2.25 exhaust and u swap out the cat for a test pipe you will gain about 3 more hp
How Much Louder Did The Megan Racing Header And High Flow Cat Make Your Muffler Sound?? Also Is It The Direct Fit High Flow Cat, And Is That Just A Muffler With The Stock Piping??
thanks man, i do feel that after installed the cat, system flow better => little bit more hp in IMO and little more noise (in a good way). The OEM from a 92 civic should be replaced anyway.

Actually...back pressure is bad... It is sometimes good at certain RPM's, depending on your powerband.
StevenWyman 3 years ago
back pressure isnt bad, too much is. just like not enough is bad too.
