  • i loved the way martin hannett recorded the elevator and lift gate! when the gate opens it's as if ian took the elevator up and sings moments later. timeless!!!

  • Scientology is advertising to me. On this video. Fuck.

  • The start of the song reminds me to the Horse Latitudes from The Doors,Strange days.

  • Im not afraid any moreee

i remember when we where young

    buenisima

  • glorious

  • .......and all gods angels beware-and all you judges beware-sons of chance take good care- for all the people out there........

  • No "dislikes" just the way it should be

  • I'm believer in Joy Division FUCKING HALLELUJAH!

  • i'm literally speechless for words right now.. this song is on a whole other level of music... its poetry at its most finest

  • God knows what Ian Curtis would have achieved if he had not taken his own life so young

  • @DJALSKI1 Far more than he could handle

  • I could look at that album cover for days.

  • Dammn this song is fuckin sick.

  • this is my least favourite song from the album

    and still amazing

  • GREAT SONG

  • You can hear the new order sound.

  • @CLVASHJBHWFS It should be the other way around. Joy division was before New order. You should be able to hear the Joy division in the New order songs.

  • @shakejuntizzy94 Yes, I know what you mean. It just sounded New orderish inparts, or rather what Joy Division/New Order would become.

  • @CLVASHJBHWFS Yeah, that's true. None the less, Joy division and New order are both amazing!!

  • The day I stop adoring this song will be the day I know my life has lost all of it's quality.

  • joy division is for tweakers

  • @fenwyfrnk how come?

  • great great great ... thanx from italy

  • ME: I LOVE JOY DIVISION

    SISTER: SHUT THE FUCK UP!

    ME:FUCK OFF!! GO LISTEN TO REAL MUSIC B I A T C H!!!!!!

  • why the fuck is this song so eery...? his voice is just anticipating his death...as if he was coming back from after life....

  • Songs like these are messages from the other side.

  • @slangshotstudios yes sir ;)

  • The ghost of Ed Too Tall Jones listens to Joy Division.

  • @pretty23garbage

Truest thing I've heard in a minute.

  • Inhuman is really the most human you can feel.

  • Thinking about this band for several years. Still don't know what to think about them. I don't even know if i "like" it, i just feel it. That's all I know.

Makes the word like so irelevant...

  • @nihilumgehenna

Preferences are for people in need.

  • @ShahMatification couldnt agree more....you can be nothin but human to truly understand this band :)

  • So much emotion. Ian was so insightful as a lyricist. Something in the words reaches out and grabs angst and desolation and hope all at once...

  • FINALLY GOT MESELF AN ORIGINAL PRESSING OF UNLNOWN PLEASURES.. UP FOR SERIOUS OFFERS..E MAIL ME

  • @bookai69 How much?

  • how the fuck do you make such good music.. increadible

  • wow this song makes me really lethargic and decadent, just like Ian sings "and I dont care anymore..."

  • Every time i go back to that record i'm washed away by it's strength.

  • marttin hannet brought the genious together ,respect martin rip

  • One of the things I always forget when I listen to Joy Division is that Ian was only 23 when he took his own life and even younger when he wrote all this clever, brilliant music.

  • @ilikevines homo

  • almost one of joy divisions songd describes an incident in my life tht and blue monday by new order describes my recent break up

  • God listens to Joy Division.

  • @MrDerbi37 No. Joy Division are the GODS!!!!!!

  • @MrDerbi37 Apparently the only reason Muhammad unified the Saudi Peninsula was because one day he heard this CD being listened to by some silk-trader, and the shit was so good he went crazy after the guy left town, and so he spent the rest of his life looking for him and that CD.

  • @MrDerbi37 What god?

  • @seanhoffay the living god

  • @MrDerbi37 I think people in limbo would be listening to Joy Division. I see God being more into ambient.

  • And all God's angels beware and all you judges beware son's of chance take good care

  • Joe Division were mopey cunts.

  • @SeedsofJoy Oh dear. I'm SOOO offended.

  • @SeedsofJoy And that's why we love them.

  • @SeedsofJoy Who is Joe?

  • @SeedsofJoy Yeah, Joe Division is a cunt. He should listen to Joy Division to stop being said cunt.

  • @cometogether21 Haha...

  • Quite possibly the best album in the world, And I hate it how people just like it for the cover, they dont realize the depth of this amazing music.

  • @ilovehubbas

that's part of the beauty of it. If everyone appreciated it that would mean Hitler liked it too, and Osama Bin Laden. I don't want to share the same musical tastes with those guys. No way. If I found out Osama Bin Laden was listening to Joy Division when his compound was raided, I don't know how I would deal with that. It would be weird.

  • @crushsatan You would approve of his good taste.

  • @crushsatan Do you always trust in what your "leaders" say about other men? Whenever I hear someone talking shit about Hitler, they always turn out to be ignorant on WWII.

  • @crushsatan

Well even evil people, or people simply perceived to be 'evil', can have apt aesthetic judgment.

Though ultimately morality and aesthetics converge.

  • @TheGoodWinston

Hmmmm. I will think about that. It is unfortunate to me, to be more specific, that I share the same taste with people who, if not "evil", would never give me the time of day, or a glass of water if I was dying of thirst.

  • Comment removed

  • @crushsatan Things can be savoured with equal passion for wholly different ends. A masterwork may imbue similar feelings of awe and rapture, owing to the nature of the object itself, but how it is interpreted is the work of the appreciative subject and depends on their state of mind.

Think of what the works of Shakespeare meant for Adolph Hitler and Winston Churchill. Both men had a superficially legitimate claim for inspiration, but for completely divergent purposes.

  • @TheGoodWinston

    I hear ya, pal.

  • @zian1977c I mean a Unknown Pleasures bag, not just a random bag.

  • 0:34

  • This Doesnt sound right. This track sounds much better on the BBC Sessions CD.

  • @zian1977c I buyed a bag, thats nearly the same then to buy the albums

  • Joy Division saved my life!

  • Im so glad be say that Interpol sounds like Joy Division, if not, i'd probably never hear of these guys. It's a shame how I had to hear it off a comment, Joy Division should be playing on every radio and TV...these guys are (easily) one of the best!

  • @xDeadMisfitsx hey man who cares how you hear about the music! at least you're here now.

  • now i know what people say when they compare interpols sound to joy division

  • @musterdsandwich even more annoying when I saw a guy post on a JD video "sounds like Interpol"

  • @ReeceHughesRocks hahah yeah thats lame, dont get me wrong though i do love me some interpol

  • @ReeceHughesRocks Somewhere on here there's a dreadful heavy metal band covering Shoplifters of the World by the Smiths and some kid has commented on the video something like "Is this a cover because I tried finding another version of it and all I could find was a clip of some English fags from the '80's doing a really lame version." It's frightening, I'm sure I was more open minded when I was a kid.

  • Fuck yeah. Thank you JD for all you left us with. New Order? Not so much.

  • @jacob7207 New Order carried the torch after Ian's suicide, they have some really amazing music. Just listen to the double album New Order Substance and you will see what I mean.

  • @aperturesandfstops Yeah whatever, I don't really care...

  • @jacob7207 Because you didn't have a good argument to begin with!

  • @aperturesandfstops Oh let him be. If he doesn't feel like listening to music he doesn't know, its his loss. I do agree that New Order did a damn good job at at least making themselves different after the name change.

    Anyways, love this song.

  • Absolute Genius not equaled by anyone today. Although Deer Tick does come close to matching the intensity of lyrical poetry.

  • i dont feel human when i listen to these guys...

  • @docmar42011 I feel in te same way, this kind of music have Power and a lot of more...

  • great song ty 4 posting

  • good shiite

  • This album is the soundtrack of my life .....

  • Oh thank Providence, I found it! The most (to me) moving rendition of this I've heard was on that bootleg sometimes rather distastefully labelled 'Stroseck's Last Stand' - JD fans will know the significance of that reference.

  • @locomotifx the movie he watched before he died...

  • @chakadoodledoo The very evening/early morning, I believe. People think of Curtis as being a chronically depressed guy - and he was clearly troubled to remove that voice and wonderfully un- self-conscious stage presence from Earth - but the rest of the band were shocked cuz he didn't act like a seriously sad person. Maybe there's a message in that, I don't know, but I'm heartened that we have the music! JD just like some of the best bands/composers dealt with deep stuff but the music triumphed.

  • I'm not afraid anymore......hearing their music and dear Ian's beloved voice! Thank you so much for sharing, dear jarksjold!!

  • This song reminds me of my sons, my childhood, and my parents. I guess that is the genius of this song, Expression of the circular pattern that is life and death.

    I Remember

  • Guess ya dreams always end, they rise up just descend, but I don't care anymore, I've lost the will to want more. I'm not afraid not at all. I watch them all as they fall, but I remember when we were young! POWERFUL STUFF

  • the suicide makes these songs ten times more powerful

  • drugs are poweful

  • fantastic

  • I love this song the lyrics should be on a halmark card.

  • this is my favorite song by them...

  • this song always make me feel good

  • this song changed my life

  • thank u so much for uploading

  • ian curtis kills self and kurt cobain kills self. my mom is right about a lot of people who become singers have serious problems

  • @royalnash What about the thousands of singers who have not killed themselves?

  • @royalnash of course us singers have problems. its our inspiration

  • "Oh, I'm not afraid anymore."

    perfect song for suicide

  • @burubeeri wooooow there

  • Epic

  • absolutely magnificent

  • best album I ever listened to, not just saying that either.

  • @Ihuffglue91 really though! I've never had a band/ album impact me not just with lyrics but sound, purely beautiful.

  • joy division....loveeeeeee!!!!!!
