Wow, that's very odd, and 6" for elevator levelling is a potentially bad trip hazard. Also, when the doors close slowly, it is dangerous as well, since someone could stick their hand in there and would be crushed if the elevator started moving.
Speaking of strange problems with elevators, I used my elevator key today at school, and the cab was about half a foot above the floor level when it opened. I was like "Uhhhh... what do I do?"
If it's just a tiny tiny bit below the level though, that might be a sign of a loss of hydraulic pressure, in which case it's programmed to automatically re-level.
Yeah. It's too bad some people get scared of a hydraulic elevator re-leveling, because they just don't understand why it does that. (Not directed toward anyone on here!)
Better do something with the Elevator door because it locks slowly.

Even if Highland Mall closes, the hotel will remain open, and it will not torn down.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
I hope they keep this hotel open. I'd hate to see it go. :-(

No, it's just in the vicinity of the mall.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
Is this hotel in the mall. These might double as mall elevators
Ih8escalators 2 years ago
Probably.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
Did the staff get suspicious about you entering the hotel? Did you get caught by security?
elevatorgeek762 2 years ago
No, they didn't get suspicious about me, since I had lots of success with hotel elevators.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
Do the other elevators at that hotel have the same problem?

If there elevator wasn't level when you went to get on it, you shouldn't get on it. Might be a sign of it breaking down.
pcdoctor2 2 years ago
Yes, I wouldn't get on it, but I was brave enough to do so, and I do think this elevator might be in need of modernization soon.

Or it could be a calibration problem with one of the cables, since this is a traction elevator.

I have no idea, but I think it's just worn out, and the door operator needs to be repaired, or replaced.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
what is wrong wit the door closeing?
nikivasquez 3 years ago
Something's wrong with the door operator that sits on top of the cab.
ElevatorMan2012 3 years ago
Yes, the doors take so long to close, and I think the door operators are in need of replacement.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
What is wrong with those doors?
pcdoctor2 3 years ago
