Wow I've been doing this exercise with the shoulder going as far back to the ears and did feel really hard tension on my shoulders. One question, I do these on a flat bench using all these principals chest out legs apart and so on, is there a difference?

That squeeze the tennis ball thing is an excellent way to help perfect form while bench pressing too. You should always try to pull your shoulder blades together while doing reps on your back. It gives you a much more stable platform to work off of.
