  • I been to Radio City Music Hall many times.Just think about it.I could have sat in the same seat as Dwight Yoakum.

  • The two people who voted against this song must be Jody Watley fans.

  • waouuuu...!!!!!! c'est un régal....dans la simplicité elle illumine le plateau par ses pas de danse

    repose en paix Whitney

  • i LOVE this song! RIL WHITNEY HOUSTON!!

  • oh those days when we saw more of real talents & less of autotunes.so sad the verything that made her famoua led to her down fall.r.i.p. W.H

  • MJ and whitney. true music stars. and gave us good love and music. classics and legends. will and always will be. so thankful for gifts and talents. they are singing together again in Heaven. they are both angels. love.

  • @MrDTJones1 MJ wanted her to duet with him on I Just Can't Stop Loving You on his Bad album, but her record company refused because they were afraid of overexposure. Imagine what a classic the song could have been with her voice on it. Now it is just an okay track on Bad.

  • C'est une pépite cette vidéo ! Typiquement années 80 : ) Parmi ses meilleures années...

  • that dancing was hilarious

  • WAHOUU !! SHE LOOKS LIKE A BARBIE DOLL...

  • she is the best. THE VOICE. God bless her and her family. much love. just wish we could all dance together.

  • Wow! This was absolutely A-MAZING!!!!! Not only did she give a fantastic performance that night; vocally and visually. She did a costume change with panty hose, which is not a quick change to do.

  • 3:18.....just like Michael Jackson's Beat It routine

  • I remember watching this performance and dancing along with her that night. She won for best pop female vocalist that night for this song.

  • @saiijackson...we have Nicki Minaj....um, yeah...so basically not a dayum thang!!!!

  • Love Love LOVE the 80s choreography!!! Thank you for posting! I was born in 1972 and I remember all those dances. She did a great job, lol, I've never seen Whitney dance so much for one song. Everyone was having fun... that's the 80s

She was a part of my life. I'll miss her.

  • THIS IS THE WAY ILL ALWAYS REMEMBER WHITNEY BEFORE BOBBY CAME INTO HER!!! R.I.P MY LOVE :(

  • Great voice, great legs !!!!....RIP Whitney !!!

  • Whitney, no words can fully describe or do her justice. Simply beautiful, Amazing vocals. The Best of the Best. May she RIP

  • This performance looks so plain after seeing all the elaborate performances of last night's Grammy's. Wow, how things change!! But it's so great to hear her sing so purely and looking so young and vibrant. She looks so tall and thin here too.

  • She is the original BEAUTIFUL BLACK BARBIE DOLL! I love you WHITNEY HOUSTON my favorite singer forever!

  • What a great voice and presence.

  • Whitney the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Classic

  • *tears* And so many names of folks who are no longer with us. Rest in love, Ms. Houston.

  • MAN! Oh how i wish i was there! ='( icons will be missed <3

  • The good ol days...R.I.P

  • SHE HAD SO MUCH FUN DOING THE UP TEMPO STUFF AND DANCING/

  • @roosterdiva...you can't blame Bobbie, I mean he may have had something to do with the "introduction", BUT he cerrainly didn't make her do anything, she was a grown woman making grown woman's choice, ever here of "free choice?" she could've just said NO. And I'm sure he didn't have anything to do with her continued use. What a damn tragic loss. We all feel pain, frustration and unrest, but at least, let's be clear here. Love you Whitney, you are already missed. Ecclessiates 3:1, "There is a tim

  • RIP ive always wanted to meet you! we will meet in heaven. ILY

  • God,take care to my sweet voice,,,,I miss you Whitney,,you was the best...

  • I will miss you Whitney, Your light can now shine in heaven. RIP!

  • Great performance...we'll miss you Whitney...

  • She was so young and fresh. Only Lord knows why.

  • This is is the peformance where I heard her for the very first time. It rocked...my mom recorded it on cassette tape...great memory. ....great voice.

  • @MrBuzzialdrin Amazing. This was also the first song I recorded, using my brand-new mono cassette recorder, with microphone placed close to the TV speaker.

The music was much better those days.

  • Should make the 2012 Grammy's quite interesting with her passing away a day before the awards.

  • RIP Whitney we love you :(

  • Whitney wowed the crowd this night because after this opening number the first category was won by U2 and Bono made a special mention of her performance and he was still buzzed...high praise indeed!

  • lamo the 80s get ot whitney

  • One of the best vocal acrobatics in the world

  • it's weird to see Whitney in that kind of outfit, moving a lot. I'm more used to her stage presence in the 90s when she was more into jumping and prefered normal trousers and dresses. She does better job dancing than Mariah in her attempts though. BTW The shoulder pads make small ass look even smaller

  • IDK what you all are talking about, or watching for that matter, but I thought it was a GREAT performance. Her dance was not too much and not too little. Stage presence and energy was exciting, as usual. Her voice was great! They'll never be another....

  • wow didn`t janet jackson once say she danced like a toy soldier.janet i agree

  • @malt8291 Is that good or bad? Lol.

  • i love ..and i will always love WHITNEY!!!

  • 2:20... Amazing!

  • Just the best female performer ever!! she can sing, acting, dancing!! number one Lady in music!

  • @Westarist Singing? Absolutely, Acting? OK. Dancing? NO. LOL

  • MICHAEL JACKSON!!

  • She was the most beautiful creature who could sing in the world then. Aging is sad and painful....

  • @kgo3530 it's not sa

d! it's part of our life and must be seen as a poetic thing. Sad for me is to see 27 year old singers deing of drugs and stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • Damn. How long are her legs? WOW!

  • OMG!!!!!!! YOU GOTTA LOVE THE DANCING!!!!! :D

  • That time was great... Grammys 1988 Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston at the same day... and What we have now..=(

  • @saiijackson Now we have only their songs... :'(

    RIP from Serbia

  • @STSM32 I know... It's so sad... LONG LIVE THE QUEEN WHITNEY AND THE KING MICHAEL JACKSON.

They both will live in our hearts forever.

  • @saiijackson you have you tube!

  • @saiijackson Best Grammys that year. If I recall was that also the first time Michael performed Man in the Mirror?

  • @lilPopper Yep, That night was the first time Micheal perforned Man in the mirror. He did a beautiful performance.

  • She can sing. No doubt, but those jazz squares are a bit, um, lacking...LOL!

  • She's a skinny toothpick here.

  • @macuser5555 She's about 22 here. I saw here a couple weeks before this promoting her 1st. cd.

  • @dancinonasmoothedge (24) too be exact LOL!!

  • i think she sang LIVE on more grammy performances than any other singer. maybe aretha did more. she is a living legend and so classic. the very definition of class and a pop/soul singer. THANKS WHITNEY!

  • looking at this just makes me feel so sad how her voice has deteriorated now...

  • HOW THIN ARE THOSE LEGS !

  • is that a mariah butterfly LOL

  • @gretz13 not a mariah butterfly. this is long before mariah began with the butterfly stuff. and whitney came before her and DEFINED singing. the butterfly belt was just a coincidence. mariah owns it now and wears it out. like her voice. haha. kidding. i love mariah...but she could never sing like this.

  • @MrDTJones1

Hi there I know, i was just saying all those butterflies, and i totally argree, Whitney set the standard, no one comes close...

  • Wow just wow she iz A M A Z I N G

  • amazing. classic as always. and the people that cuss on here and talk about her outfit. it was in the 80's. what were you wearing then? it was not about the outfit. it was her voice and stage presence. and did you ever win a Grammy? hum.

  • The outfit was not appropriate for the venue. The voice is awesome though but the wardrobe needed to be updated. That's a Backyard Barb-b-cue or sunday shopping outfit, and is so not an awards show outfit.

  • Whitney what the fuck? How are you gonna do a damn wardrobe change into some shit uglier than what you were just wearing? This was one of the warning signs she was on her way to Crackton. LOL j/k love you Whitney! That shit was ugly but that voice is like none other!

  • I thought she did alright with the dancing. I don't get why people always say she doesn't have rhythm. She never loses her stage presence. Yes, she's amazing. I want that belt.

  • the vocal is great! Whitney is just not much of a dancer and really the dancing she does here is minimal. Kind of ironic because of the song she is singing, lol.

  • Speechless!!.. Amazing Performance!

  • @Juanda2604 You hear her F6 amazing high note!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kmaur21 That was C6...not F6.

  • @rekupp That was 3 notes higher than C6# actually she hits in studio. She hits a F6/F6# here and effortlessly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kmaur21 Three notes higher than a C6 is an E6. This song is on a diatonic scale loser.

  • @rekupp Your a stupid there notes higher than C6 is a F6 She hits a F6 fool!

  • @kmaur21 Nope.

  • Just a fashion model figure. WOW and the voice!!!!

  • I loving the F6 in superhead voice sing Whitney

  • She is so thin. Look at dem legs. Wow! Stunning.

  • who can open a Grammy show like Whitney? NO ONE. butterfly belt and bad weave...she sang. who does this anymore? no one. i wanna dance with somebody who can SING? and dance. so who can? whitney did here.

  • @MrDTJones1 You hear the F6 thats the best one I heard!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the F6 she hit here, girl is the beast with the high notes. True soprano always

  • i love this song. so much... no matter wat year it is. this song will always be in style. thumbs up if u agree...

  • @FAITHANN97 She sound just like Twinkie and Karen 5:22 Clark Sisters growl for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She had one of the greatest voices of all time. Heartbreaking hearing her fly through this song with no trouble after seeing her struggle and half-ass this song in 2010. Pop music lost a great performer.

  • I love her. Unless it is funny......!Also the singers worth it!

  • Ahm sorry...but first off...ahv seen her doin this er 'routine' before somewhere...and like ah said then...she didn't NEED to do all that bullshit...with everyone doin that lame excuse for 'dancing (though as ever, from this period, her voice is flawless) and secondly...what the FUK is all that shit with those names...ah mean...who the fuk WERE most of em????Lord have mercy...well...at least everyone knew (and STILL knows) who Whitterz is...exactly as it should be,coz she be a legend...end of!!

  • @5:20... just in case you weren't sure which one was her she's lettin everyone know. Goosebumps.

  • As at were in the 80s, Whitney was in immaculate voice. However, this was not her best performance of IWDWS. She danced so stiffly here; I mean, it's not as if she ever became that much of a dancer, but there was a point in her career when she just owned the stage.

  • That was the 80's, like it or not. LOL!!! Check out Ricky Minor!!

  • This is so embarrassing to watch. LMAO

  • @rawfannation101 Where did that come from? lol

  • Damn she's got some long legs.

  • love whitney but i gotta be totally honest about this perform... This way of dancing sorry but this is so cheesy!

You should pay to remove this video out!

    absolutely ridiculous!

    This is fake, not natural!

  • @stepanenkko hahahahaha agreed! love her voice, or used to anyway, but this perfomance is pathetic! hahahaha finally somebody told the truth! this is so 80´s and cheesy! dacing like this is quite funny! hahahahaa

  • Listen to how she just throws her voice, amazing.

  • onee of the best grammy performances i`ve ever heard. i love this song.

  • Adoro questa performance, whitney houston non sai quanto hai significato, continui a significare e significherai per me, sei la musica fatta a persona, sei tutto, sei pace, sei tranquillità, sei voce, sei tecnica, sei sentimento, sei passione, sei sofferenza sei te, whitney houston. ed ho detto tutto♥

  • ( Siigh)...I miss the 80's! I actually have this entire 1988 Grammys on an old VHS~lol. This was when the Grammys were at it's best...look at all the great performers that were on the show...Whitney, MJ, Billy Joel ect. Now, the Grammys today are not even worth watching...just a bunch of talentless performers trying to follow in the footsteps of the performers of the past!

  • Loved this Grammy Performance ! :)

  • great song...thank you.....

  • my great 80's coming at us again!!!!!!lol

  • excellent song *********

  • Awesome song, thanks for sharing!

  • great song and video, wonderful upload, hugs margo
