I remember watching this. In 1987, this was a huge deal considering ABC, NBC, and CBS pretty much owned network TV for 30 years. The first "fourth network" (the DuMont network) failed miserably back in the 50's. And I remember the first 30 seconds of this video, of the guys rigging the Hollywood sign to read "FOX" ran for at least the first month after the original launch date. FOX didn't even star broadcasting 7 days a week until 1994.

Some of their network IDs called it FBC(Fox Broadcasting Corportation) sometimes early on.

I love that one of the first things we ever saw on fox at 0:02 was some guys ass in cut off shorts. FOX!
