  • I wanna live in korea ; A;

  • do they still live in Korea??

  • I don't think Europeans care much, at least the countries I've experienced.. Couldn't tell you why. In Iceland they rate movies differently, nudity doesnt matter, neither does language, but violence is a no-no!

  • It's not because there was a commercial like that in Italy, that entire Europe approves of it! (Don't wanna sound so harsh but please do not generalise Europe, every country has an different culture, different background etc.)

  • One think i really really like about your videos is the clear diction ^^ My english is not very good but thanks to your clear diction (and the subs ofc.) i can understand pretty much everything (:

  • copying the swag, the dance moves? LOLOLOL

  • american always think they're best. I'm tired of it...:)

  • ridiculous question. korean music vids go out of their way to copy american ones. just like in music.

  • @angryaznman Funny that isn't it lol!

  • @iLoveNickJay1 good job. dumb shit should be removed. dont be dumb enough to pretend every kpop song goes out of there way to shove english phrases (that are NOT used correctly) in their songs. copying the swag, the dance moves, everything.

half of kpop jacks hip hop, the other half jacks american pop groups.

  • I wonder what they would think if they saw the music video for Neyo's song Mad, that video really got to me

  • Kpop doesn't make it in North America because nobody speaks Korean...

  • Yeah, what DO you do- do you have other work besides blogging? And I realized I haven't watched American music videos or listened to American radio for a loong time.

    38-24, lol.

  • Nice spelling in the annotations, guys XD

  • "38-24s", Lmao. Those are going to be my lucky numbers from now on.

  • I live in Australia and the people I show the kpop music videos too all say how much effort they put into the sets, dances, costumes etc. is really surprising .

  • they work as full-time youtube bloggers

  • LoL, I'm European, and I'm grown up in Italy, and personally I've always thought that American TV is dirtier, and vulgar. Well, I don't live there anymore, maybe things have changed...but I just lolled at Martina's comment XD

  • I remember when Mirotic was only able to show late night in Korea. My friend told me and I was like What O_o and it was because of the content of the lyrics

  • Comment removed

  • @miyulovespoprocks So they changed "under my skin" to "under my sky" in stage LoL. 2pm hands up was banned for children and teens because of lyrics "get your drinks up". So many song is banned...I know It's for the youth but...Its really.....

  • @leesol0812 yeah I guess being raised in America, like Martina said, I don't really think about how "explicit" it really is, but that's because I so use to it (I'm not sure where your from haha didn't want to jump to conclusions) but to me I think with half of the videos there are in America "Under my skin" isn't that bad and it's also a phrase used to when someone ticks you off XD

  • they listen to kpop all day instead of teaching duh

  • What do you guys do now?

  • As an American I've not like the mainstream music since 1992 or so. Rap is the predominant theme and I get ill when I watch all these rappers acting like dicks, bein' so coo, treat'n women like hoes, talk'n ebonics.

So yeah, I looked other places for music. I found Alizee and Mylene Farmer from France.

And I found KPOP!!! I love the innocence and respectfulness of the Korean culture. It makes you realize how far hollywood has led the U.S. into the sewer.

  • What does South Korea think of North Korea

  • omg. MARTINA Y U SO CUTE WITH THAT BABY VOICE.

  • Omg I live in Brazil and here we have a stupid kind of "music" (notice the ") called "Funk Carioca" wich means "hoe music that talks about sex". And there are these super plastic hoes shaking their butts around, and most ppl HATE IT! (For good's sake. But if you're brazilian you probably want to kill Michel Telló...Or you got problems.)

And I am like: "Omg! She so not did that!" and such the same for american pop vids and stuff. Guess I'm one of the last innocent teens here in this world. O_O

  • I'm from Europe and while nipples on tv is not something you see everyday, I gotta admit it happens ^^; I Doesn't mean everyone's used to it. i mean, imagine watching tv with your parents and then a body-wash commercial comes up and there's a girl running around completely naked...awkward =.=

  • You are so idiots stupid animals americans what you talk a lot of shit fuckin white sperms

  • In Denmark .. everything gets banned... no just a joke. they don't have nipples. d:

  • I live in France, and I can tell you I'm ashamed with our music ._.

  • @nidjiunanatshi totally agree, of course they are some exception, but yeah I'm pretty ashamed but it's not especielly France but Europe and noth america too. the only thing that I have to say is not every country in europe show nipples at least not in France but we do have A LOT of french kiss really a lot.

  • @lilassia69 Yeah XD

  • @nidjiunanatshi I live in Brazil. I can tell I'm ashamed with my music, how our society became in the last 20 years and lotsa stuff... -.-'

  • @simonandmartinabonus i dont get why korean say that american are more promiscuous because i just started watching korean movies and most like almost all of them where like pornographic!! i coundnt even watch them!!!

  • @20Raman10 really ???????!!!!!!!!! I pretty sur we didn't watch the same movies 'cause those I watched had nothing pornographic at all

  • @20Raman10 I think it's just your luck, running into the promiscuous ones because there are many "clean" ones in comparison..

  • Lately, I've been watching a lot of K-pop, and so whenI just watched the video of Justin Timberlake, for a second I was really confused why there wasn't a dance or something... ^^

  • lmao i laugh so hard at the nipples part.... okay my comment sounds wrong.... oh well

    *fly away*

  • if you dont teach anymore, what do you do now? are you still living in korea? love watching your vids!

  • they like justin bieber cause he is one of the few pretty boys in namerica and he is really famous.

  • aside from a handful of music videos....i generally despise american pop music videos =.=

  • Ehm.. i'm italian and i want to say sorry to Martina's family members ahahahaha

ps:thanks to korea i've become innocent again too XD

  • That was interesting to watch~ I find it's the opposite for Japanese students. I have heaps of Japanese friends who love American music. American music seems to be very popular over there, but Japanese music isn't as popular in other countries.

  • i have a feeling Koreans like Justin Timberlake alot. Take BIGBANG for example. They love Justin T. lol "When im drunk i think im Justin Timberlake" ~Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri)

  • wow this video makes me realize how messed up america is

  • in the UK there is no such nipple showing :P In Spain I have heard it's bad though.

  • I've been everywhere in North America. I am quite open to most cultures but it just blows my mind how innocent Koreans are. I am even planing on living there instead of Japan... Anyways I don't like most American Music Videos but I do tend to love the Koreans, and I'm Mexican. Lol.

  • @TheMonicaRules ya Japan kinda freaks me out a bit...their anime has kind of gotten warped to the point where its like anime child porn except legal. I also dont like most american MVs either =P

  • @DeathORPunani ughh like boku no chico? sooo disturbing ~__~

  • maybe I'm in a different Europe, but I've never seen nor even heard about females showing their nipples in videos, except for the rated ones of course...or am I in a wrong dimension? o.O ...

  • if they don't teach anymore, what do they do?

  • @thealexiev they make these video's full time for their website.

  • @thealexiev i think they're full time bloggers now because they partnered with Youtube

  • I've lived in Europe, and I definitely understand what you're saying about the nipples. And I'm asian (Kor, Jap, Viet, and Chinese). And I'm currently living in the US. So I know a lot about cultures. And personally I like K-Pop more than any type of pop. (Besides American classics, for ex. MJ)

  • oh god, I'm gonna move out of europe ...

  • actually most american kids hate and find the indie music videos and songs boring.

  • that's cuz any decent person would respect creativity and well thought out concepts! booties, hoes and flashing lights combos arent very creative.

  • To be honest...I don't even like North American music videos either, I like our music though. OK Go's videos are always interesting to watch...anyway...hip-hop and pop videos are just over the top...Who's "Hot Chip?"

  • Aww, it's ok Simon, /I/ like Hot Chip. xD

  • what do you guys do If you're not teaching anymore?

  • @MoonRhi YouTube pays them to make videos and they money off their main blog as well. There is quite a bit of money in blogging/vlogging as well.

  • @krisdeeee I was wondering about the visa situation yknow, can you stay in a foreign country on a work visa if you're not employed there? :)

  • @MoonRhi Well I'm sure you can... I think there is just a different thing you have to apply for. Simon let his contract expire first and worked on the vlog/blog while Martina continued teaching so I'm sure he was able figure out the visa situation while being able to stay because of Martina. And then when Martina's contract was up she was able to work out her visa. This is just me guess.... I would have to do some more reseach to know for sure.

  • @krisdeeee how munch

  • @xxbleach97xx How much does YouTube pay them? I don't think they've ever revealed that... Shay Carl (another YouTube partner--paid vloger) is rummored to make about 100k from his vlog, but I think it depends on the traffic your channel gets and the ads that are clicked or watched all the way through... I'm not an expert this is just observations from my years as a YouTube user.

  • Comment removed

  • @krisdeeee They have 4 kids? Or do you mean another youtuber?

  • @lulcKathy No, no, no... haha. I was talking about a different family which does youtube videos. Simon and Martina do not have any children.

  • @MoonRhi They do these videos full-time.

  • I don't really like Beiber.....but I do love me some Kpop boy groups (^ ^) <3

  • bums = homeless people

    LOL

  • i laugh at lady gaga all the time... i dont find her artsy

  • O________O pfffffff people need to get used to sex! It's not that bad really. You'll find if you stop getting hysterical over what's under everyone's clothes you'll start getting angry over more important things! And I don't really like K-pop it's too mainstream...please don't argue about that!

  • Ermm... I am from Europe... =.="

  • hate lady gaga xD Love inocent koreans ♥ ! oou

  • hate lady gaga xD Love inocent koreans ♥ ! oou

  • They were bored cause they couldn't understand the lyrics. When I listen to Korean ballads I think they are boring too but that is because I don't understand the true meaning of the song. If the beat isn't that good then its the lyrics that will get people and with Rap music that's really important. I may like the way a Korean rapper sounds but I'll never know if they're good if I can't understand what they're saying. It would be the same for them as well.

  • Who do they do for a living now?

  • where do the people watch the full music videos in korea? like i know its banned on tv and stuff, but on youtube (at least in my country) i watch the whole things. like for Big Bangs music vidoes. for Seunguris Strong baby or their whole band song Tonight,,,,,those were edited for tv. so do the korean people never watch the full things? lol im confused on how that law works. :) someone help me?

  • I guess as an American, I didn't realize that I'm so desensitized to sexuality. One thing's for sure though: both north America and Korea put a huge emphasis on unobtainable beauty standards (even if they each have their own ideas about what is beautiful).

  • You should've showed them a Panic! At the Disco music video they only have like one "boring" music videos!

  • @KonnieNinjaMusic they would have fainted. i love panic.....but their music videos (at least some of them) could be considered porn in korea. :P just saying. hahaha. the studentsw would have died.

  • wait..u guys don't teach anymore?! what happened? o.o

  • Why did you stop teaching?

  • simon brought up the most perfect point at the end of the video!

  • lol i've never liked american videos, whenever my friends talk about a video, i know the song and probably more song from the album than they do, but i didn't watch the video, cuz i really don't like videos here, especially since they don't really dance or anything... as much as i love Drake's music, the video for Healines was just him standing/walking and saying the lyrics...

when i show my friends a kpop video, the first thing they say is that they are amazing dancers...

  • @DeviLuvsSuJu i said more song, i meant more songs, lol

  • You guys are the only few youtubers that i know seamlessly record video in one shot. Now thats narural talent and its much more personable to look at.

  • I'm European, and I think that European videos are worse than North American.

  • @MissSimpleBitches how are they worse then ours?lol

  • @keke555788 Well, our videos try to imitate American, and they just turned out to be really cheap and vulgar. You see a lot of vulgarity in North American videos, but at least they're not low-budget, if anything. >.<

  • @MissSimpleBitches ah i see.

  • lol most of these videos are written in English. AMERICA, WE'RE DOING IT RIGHT.

  • @pinkhotarurose *COMMENTS :P MAH BAD

  • The innocent part is what I like about k-pop, I don't have to worry about what I can and can't watch with my mom and little cousin around. We can all rock out to the songs together.I think Brian Joo's version of In My Head is the best example of how different k-pop style is from A-pop style. Our version just sounded so nasty to me after I read out the translation for the other version.Even my A-pop loving sister who's reaction was "Aww" to Brian Joo and "Oh...wow....." to the original lyrics XD

  • You guys don't teach anymore o.o why? You found new jobs?

  • I live in North America. I too dislike the American pop music videos.

  • @awkwebum100 haha i love this channel but i am sorry but kpop and jpop etc music videos make me laugh. Yeah they are more proactive but shurgs lolz but either way there is nothing wrong with either!!!

  • @awkwebum100 I live in America itself and U got to get use to it and like it but lately Im hating it

  • What? You guys don't teach anymore?

  • @KellyZonzen you're rude. they aren't bad teachers.

  • American music vids, in my opinion, can't make it in Korea since of the content Kpop can be accepted into America though, for those who would watch a vid in another language(like me though i can't understand what they are saying i think kpop rocks) or if they already know Korean

  • How funny they were bored out by and didn't like American music videos very much, when their own 90% of Kpop music videos feature boring uniform dancing and closeup shots. 10x more boring then the so-called boring American videos.

  • As a white American, I definitely prefer K-Pop's current music to A-Pop's current music, and K-Pop certainly has fun, hot videos for girls to watch and it's more innocent and wholesome, but on the other hand their styles are VERY limited and can get very repetitive and boring over time (the whole boy/girl band formula with the dance box, obligatory rap solo and corny little ballad before the final chorus, etc). American artists and music videos tend to be far, FAR more varied and realistic.

  • *lives in the uk*

    "you eauropeans show nipples everywhere"

    *moves away* I know nothing

  • @AnDrEaArOcHa *Lives in Brazil*

*You brazilians just keep shaking the butt with extra plastic surgery*

    *Moves away* I know nothing...

Yes...Society's sake is now only on Asia LOL XD

  • @MusicBabeStar lolol i know what you mean LOL im from venezuela and everything is sooo.....yeah its better if they dont know what happens in latin america....

  • i bet the reactions will be a lot different if you show those to korean college students

  • Why did you show them the most crappy artist? Gawd.

  • Why aren't you guys teaching anymore??If your not teaching what else are you guys doing?

  • @TheDenise530 i think they're full time vloggers now

  • If you don't teach anymore, what do you do? My boyfriend and I would love to live in Korea, but he doesn't have a bachelor's in anything to get a teaching job.

  • @bloodyaftertaste They're full time bloggers now. ^__^

  • @tinapay621 How do they retain their Visas for that?

  • I'm not Korean, and I was born and raised in California, but I never liked even 1 American song(or obssessed over)- somehow though, K-Pop really got me -3 maybe just cause I'm Asian XDXD

  • somebody should definitively show TVXQs ballons to an american class that knows nothing about k pop. they would probably die laughing. at first i was like this too. but after some while i came to totally love k pop.

  • THAT IS ONLY FROM UR CLASSES !!

all of us don't think like that ..

  • but i also know a lot of american vids just have a bunch of girls shaking their butts the entire time. i still listen to NA music but i will always love kpop. most american songs suck b/c everything is about sex or drugs or partying but i also know that there are kpop songs out there that suck too. it really just depends on your taste. my bros make fun of me for liking kpop b/c everyone thinks the guys are gay but korea is a different culture so they view it differently.

  • i'm american and i find most kpop vids boring b/c most of the time it's practically just a dance video depending on the artist. i'm not into ballads so i don't watch the vids for those songs and usually ballads have good vids. i think a lot of american vids have cool concepts and they focus more on that and i think korea focuses more on the choreography and their image so girls can flaunt at them..

  • I think K-Pop music will make it to America to a certain extent.. Because we are a filthy country ;D and we like to see sexiness and stuff like that.. We are fine with seeing half naked men and women all over the place.. So I'm worried that Korean MVs will be too "clean" for north American viewers.. Like korean girls are sexy as crap I think and so are the men ooh myy gosh the korean men :P but will a fully clothed girl/boy group make it in america with how reserved and unnaughty they are? Hmm..

  • lol K-pop didn't make me innocent, they actually made me into a sexually frustrated fangirl. Damn hip thrusts... I miss my innocence OTL

  • I'm glad they don't like North American videos LOL!! Some are good but so many are just uninspired and boring.. I'm especially happy they rejected Kanye West.

  • I wish North American MVs were just as innocent as Korea's MVS.

  • Ok I take that back. Brown eyed girls are pretty risque.

  • Kpop isn't dirty because they don't have "T&A". Only long legs and super short skirts.

  • It seems like North American music makes it in Korea because on their game shows they dance to some NA songs also some K pop singers favorite singers are NA singers.

  • LOL

    heyyy

    us europeans dont always

    ...

    only on holidays/vacation ;)

    wait what? hairy nipple?

    shame on you lol

  • Yeah Kanye videos I don't blame them.

  • My Nepalese friends cringe at the sight Ov my Jamaican dancehall music videos for example Major Laxer's "pon da floor" (it is VERY sexual tbh) but the fact they cringe so much I guess it will be a very bad Idea if I bring it to Korea... I guess I'll have to ditch the dancehall when I go Korea.

  • I'm black, and yet I don't really like Kanye West's music. I'd rather watch kpop vids!!! xD

  • LMFAO?????

  • This is when you show them American rock bands...

Fall Out Boy..... My Chemical Romance.... Panic! At the Disco.. etc.

  • @DeadMarv50171 LOL Hell yes!

  • "she looks like a giant katamari ball" LOL SO TRUE

  • Did you ever try Taylor Swift on them? I think they would really like her!

  • How could they not fawn over Damian Kulash? Absurd!!

  • MARTINA!! MY HEART!!! D:

  • I've never thought of that, Europeans showing nipples. But it's kind of true. In a Swedish children's film (Ronja Rövardotter or Ronia, the Robber's Daughter), there's grown up men running around naked. Like totally naked. So it's not only nipples...

  • MOGEF would have a heart attack if they sat through any Lady Gaga videos XDD

  • To be fair, Lady Gaga's videos confuse and befuddle a lot of North Americans, too.

  • @prodigychild1988 Lmao they befuddle evryone in the world

  • @prodigychild1988 I guess all the world is confused by talentless whores making money right lol

  • @prodigychild1988 LOL ``BEFUDDLE`` XD

  • yay! maryland!

  • I am European and yes... we do like nipples. We are very fond of them, actually.

  • WOOOOHOOOO!!!! South Korean students dont really like american music! ( i dont mean to offend anybody i personally love K-pop better)

  • They might like Give it all by Rise against.....

  • Pretty awesome topic! This reminds me of that vid "Kids React to Kpop", and yeah, some of the kids were completely baffled by it and even pretentious. And when u said how they didn't like Kanye West or Lady Gaga- which most of us in English speaking countries accept- i think it goes to show how we're not any different than others people. It's normal to be confused by things we've never been exposed to.

  • What do they think of Disney stars, that become singers?

  • K-pop is definitely not as innocent anymore. i've seen PLENTY of videos /choreography to change that perception of Korean entertainment/music

  • Simon's last statement is particularly true.

It is about culture. I adore Kpop

But when I showed it to a few of my cousins they just thought that all the men were gays and the girls were dumb.

And they only know about American things and aren't very multicultural. So it's mostly about culture and how open u r to ur music standards.

Personally, most American mv's aren't very good in my opinion.

  • lol at the students laughing at lady Gaga in BR.. xD i actually remember that i made an epic DERP face when i looked at that mv... i lo ve Ok Go! their vids are amazing! but Bieber... T__T WTH?!! no no no...

  • I thought that the US entertainment industry would've made it to Korea - at least the uber mainstream ones... so surprize iz me! :O

  • no one really listens to ok go or hot chip...just saying.
