You know, I'm watching this on AnimeFreak and it sucks that I can't point out my revelations that everyone already knows.

They just build up inside me.

Like the obvious fact that Tsukasa and Kagami from Lucky Star are based on Ryou and Kyou.

To the extent that Konata actually calls Kagami, Kyou because both names can mean mirror.

And yet for some reason I always thought Kotomi was her sister. But having watched I understand that I couldn't be more off. Kotomi's a very cute monotone nutjob!

and the characters might have similarities but those are due to your usual anime archetypes... but clannad's characters have more depth cause it's a more serious story.
