The Iwata Eclipse CS is what I primarily use. It's a great airbrush. The H&S 2 in 1 is great as well. I also use a Dewalt 15 gallon compressor. I'm not very fond of the small airbrush compressors except for small jobs or practicing.
@vincycles123 - I use an Iwata HP-CH and an Eclipse CS. I also have a Harder & Steenbeck I use on occasion. I have an Iwata Smart Jet compressor but don't use it much either. Most of my paintings are done using my DeWalt 15 gallon compressor. I also recommend moisture traps by Fabco-Air. They are out of Florida and build great equipment.
Great work Aaron. Looking forward to seeing more. By the way I see you are using the Infinity airbrush. I am the distributor for the USA and Canada for Harder & Steenbeck.
The "white marker" was probably my eraser pencil. The wiping action was me wiping away eraser shavings from my electric eraser. You don't see me doing much erasing because I edited quite a bit out of the video in order to save time.
When painting on white "Claybord" or Gesso covered hard board, you have to erase the highlights back in rather than paint them in. On "Claybord" the eraser pencil and electric eraser both work great. I don't recommend eraser pencil on Gesso covered hardboard.
I'm sorry, what is that white marker you used for the shine of the eyes?..... and at one point you did a little wipe action with something else on the right side,, his left temple. Thank you! I appreciate you vid.
Great work!! Im gonna start trying to do portraits myself so im watching ton of vids on how ppl do it! :)
If you were to give me some advice... whats ONE thing you could say I should really pay attention to as I start venturing in portraits?! Thank you in advance!
@sirdiegobernal - Just paint what you actually see rather than what you think you see or what you think would make more sense. I try to recreate all of the objects in a picture (portrait) rather than the picture as a whole. In the end, if I have recreated all objects and tonal values and transitions correctly, the picture comes together. That said, you do have to be mindful that your tonal values are consistent throughout the entire piece. I hope that helps.
AMAZING!! What kind of paint you use ¿? Thank you
