  • HEY THANKS FOR THE VIDEO... just wanted to ask what kind of material is the thin sheet that cover the whole inside the oven ....coz mine was tear off when i clean my oven...or can i just replce it with ordinary metal sheet

  • @bongsult DO NOT replace the sheet cover with metal! The sheet cover is called a Waveguide and is made of mica. It needs replaced if it is damaged. This cover allows the Microwave energy to enter the cooking chamber while preventing the water and food vapors from entering the magnetron causing corrosion and electrical shorts. -MrFixit

  • @ESRepair thanks for the reply but maybe i cant find mica here in our place is there any alternative that can replace it.....

  • @bongsult There are dozens of sites to order microwave parts, but just in case, there are alternatives to mica which can stand the elevated temperatures in a microwave oven may also be acceptable. Possible choices include plastic or fiberglass laminate but not all materials will allow microwaves to pass without some heating - check it out. Heat a cup of water and the candidate material on high for a couple of minutes. If the material doesn't heat up, it should be fine.

  • @bongsult Of course, it must also not have any metal coating (don't use a piece of one of those 'browning disks'. Mica is also non-flammable which is may not be the case with other materials. -MrFixit

  • I was wearing insulated shoes. It's dangerous with High Voltage regardless of the shoes, as I know from personal experience.

  • You're not wearing shoes or any insulation under your feet. It's dangerous.

  • Thank you for sharing the info.

  • very informative

  • Very very good series. I was working on my microwave that has been dead for a couple years now and I found a loose connection. I hope that's what it was but I still have to try it out to be sure. Your video was very helpful. Thank you for posting it.
