For example, being that my favorite team is Vancouver, I do remember booing the fans here booing the American anthem (not completely noticeable) because Boston is from the States, and being that it's the finals - it's as if the States are the enemy to us too because Boston is from America - so there is kind of a reason.

@Blackpower120 Also, many games in America that I've watched between a Canadian team and an American team, many times the crowd starts chanting "USA! USA! USA!", when it's not a national team game (like the Olympics). To me that seems incredibly arrogant and overly patriotic. It's stupid to do that. I'm proud to say that I've not seen that once up here, unless it's a national team game, like when the Olympics were here.

This was a series that the Maple Leafs stole by dirty hits on Mike Peca and Kenny Jonsson, and the most upsetting playoff series since Dale Hunter destroying Pierre Turgeon's career the year we beat the Penguins to make it to the Conference Finals.

I can't complain, though. There's plenty of room for Toronto at 30th place in 2010-11.

@suburbanindie THAT year, the Leafs won the series. If the Isles were the better team, then how come they didn't win the series after? If they were as good as you say they were, they would've overcome the losses of both Jonsson & Peca in that series. The Leafs were missing about a half-dozen of their regulars & STILL won the series in 7 games. That's all that needs to be said:-)

This series was a war. Home team won every game.

Kaberle's goal was bad on Osgood, who was otherwise outstanding. And Aucoin's goal was bad on Joseph, who was not himself in this series after missing the previous two months with a hand injury

absolutely... in philly for the playoffs were actually pretty well behaved while playing canadian teams... which is great because I love canada and just because they are playing a canadian team doesnt take away from the hospitality that we as visitors receive. awesome country... not to mention at least half of the home team either way is canadian .... so yea its a stupid way to support your team.

Thank you. People have a hard time remembering that, when the Islanders actually put together even a halfway decent team, that has A CHANCE to win the Cup, that the fans are indeed great. The Islanders have been dog shit for so long, due to many things, Chuck Wang being culprit #1, that many have forgotten.

Not just Cujo's reaction, but when Nassau stayed quiet as Bates swooped in on the penalty shot, then just EXPLODED when Bates scored, that's what I still remember about this series...:-)

1. Of the Peca hit, he said that Peca starightens people up all the time and had what he got coming to him. He also claimed the hit was legal.

2. he claimed the hit on jonsson when roberts had a 100 foot head start was legal

3. he claimed a mariusz czerkawski hit at an icing in game 6 was dirtier than the hits on jonsson and peca.

4. he laughed in game 6 when jason blake got knocked down.

despite allegiances, i think we can all agree that harry neale sucks.

CUJO was terribly overrated in Toronto..he couldn't get the job done, once he left he was left hung out to dry in Detroit..I liked this series actually, all the home teams won and it went to a FULL SEVEN!

That playoff year the Leafs were good without Sundin, and Sundin didn't play until the Eastern Conference Finals. Once Sundin came back they lost, Now im not pointing the finger at Sundin...but I thought they could've beaten the Hurricanes in SIX, not the other way around..
