  • I've always wanted to learn about this!!

  • Chinese painting is very sophisticated. Unfortunately it's not widely recognized in the West. I believe that Chinese painting is a very high form of art and interrelated with the art of calligraphy, poetry, seal carving, paper mounting, making etc.etc. Not to forget so many styles & schools.I believe the Chinese art is even more sophisticated then Most Western art. If you look closely you will see what I mean.

  • Thank you so much! Your work is so beautiful and I appreciate your time. I love your background music as you paint; very relaxing. I have a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine even though I am a Scottish girl, and find myself always migrating back to China in my mind; maybe from a past life???? I wish I could have learned this while I was in medical school but was too busy learning how to heal people.

Thanks again, you are greatly admired. :)

  • please give us some new painting demonsration...

  • I admire your work so much and want to thank you for these wonderful videos that you share with all of us

    Joy in Australia

  • i tryed doing this but the red ran into the black. is the trick to use less water in making your colours to make it less runny?

  • @MrPurplecrow You may try to do it with ink and water only first or use red color only.

  • ok thanks so much that helped alot

  • hi you`re so good at painting . i tried doing it the same way , but it just doesnt work out with my paintbrush . so i`m gonna buy some chinese ones , which sizes do you use most ?

  • @bodil15 The basic set of two brushes, or the combination hair brush(baiyun) if you only want to buy one. They can be found in my online store. Thanks!

  • Do you do this as a hobby for fun or do you just love painting?

  • Beautiful. I really respect Chinese art, it's just stunning!!

  • These are absolutely breathtaking. If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been painting for?

  • 40 years.

  • Chinese Brush Painting is such a lovely art! I hope to be able to learn it one day.

Your goldfish painting was adorable! =)

  • Your paintings are wonderful. I only stumbled upon your work as I love goldfish (I'm an enthusiastic hobbyist) your work portrays the goldfish in a very realistic and fluid way.

  • Your aquarium tank is nice. Your turtle is also cute. I have a six years old turtle as well.

  • woow you have so many brushes ... I have only 4 and I can use 2 only ... because it doesn't work with water color !

  • That's true. I got more than 200 brushes for myself. And I do sell brushes that I recommend on eBay.

  • Another treasure for someone to enjoy.

  • I'm subscribed to a couple other asian artists and they painted goldfish this past week too. I was crious if there was a reason for this, maybe New years or January?

  • In Chinese culture, yes, "fish"(Yv) sounds same as "surplus". Nian Nian You Yv ("every year has surplus"). Jing-Yv or goldfish also sounds same as "Gold-Jade" symbolize wealth in Chinese painting.

  • Aw, how cute! It never fails to amaze me how you can make this demanding art look so simple. I'm still struggling with simple bone strokes! But I won't give up practicing! Thank you for sharing!
