  • their finest release! \m/

and this is my favorite song...

  • ICY WATERS WHISPERING, TOWER OF SILENCE HIDES THE SHADOW KING

  • BAL-SAGOTH ! EXCELENTNÍ ZVRHLOST !

  • Outstanding album. Great vocals. Love this. :)

  • stupid.

  • And i first listened to Bal-Sagoth when i was 16-17. Now i'm 29 =)

  • i first listen to bal-sagoth when i was 18, and im 22 now

  • i was just 7 when i bought my first cd of theirs....not really. but who cares how old you guys were when you first heard a band! damn. this isnt directed towards you only tox0tes. at least you kids are listening to metal instead of mallcore shit like slipknot. so credit is earned there.

  • @DecayedOfferings i was just informing everyone of my age when i first started listening to bal-sagoth. it's just something that i know everyone else on youtube wants to hear. no, im kidding. i made that comment just to add to the numerous other comments stating how old the commenter was when they first started listening to bal-sagoth. i don't know the purpose of the trend, but i want to be a part of it because i like to be trendy and do what everyone is doing. i just want to fit in.

  • Just remarkable song and byron roberts' voice back there was full of darkness.great album

  • Amazing album. So dark, magical and heavy. I love the lyrics in this song. HAIL BAL SAGOTH!

  • i used to listen to bal sagoth on magical mushrooms all the time, best band besides opeth(orchid) to "trip" on at the time, now when i trip on music i can see the fantasy realm they create, and some of the key changes can be malevolently frightening, the growls are reminiscent of a fallen angel knowing of all secrets singing on an eternal stage with an ancient 'band' of wizards synchronizing thier energy (imagine what the beatles would have thought of bal sagoth)

  • @acidbath32 i love u

  • wow, Bal-Sagoth has changed much through the years. this was more black metal, now they are more like a great book of adventures =D but anyways, Bal-Sagoth is one my favourite bands and will always be it =D

  • also great to listen to while playing zelda . but this album is my favoritye from them jus because its heavier, but i love how fucking epic this band is.hails bal-sagoth!

  • please, noone ever call this band "core" anything...seriously

this is the best music to listen to while reading H.P. Lovecraft or Robert E. Howard

  • Such a superb album

  • these guys are like arcane sorcerers, however thier first cd was the most black metal oriented one until they realized they sounded better as a keyboard theme driven unit, where they REALLY found thier sound, if this music was described as any kind of core i would call it spellcore but just labeling it like that would be so undermining to its arcane cosmic sacredness

  • I heard Bal Sagoth when I was a young teen, maybe 14 or 15. First of all THANK YOU for posting Sagoth on here. I'm 25 years old, can't tell you how many times I tried to look for them and couldn't find them. Second of all, this is by far one of the best song by them. One of the most ball dragging, heavy, Earth Quaking, black songs out there.

  • @i8numbers

I first listened to Bal Sagoth when i was 14 , too, but I am still 14 :D

  • @i8numbers i'm 15 and just got into them :)

  • interesting how deeply was Byron grunting on this release. He was just rarely using it on the later albums...

  • Such a dark release! Excellent Symphonic Black Metal.

  • i know this band is good but its on the border of many different genre

  • if you look at lyrics it is fantasy

  • bands dont have to have satanic lyrical topics to be classified as black metal. there are different kinds of black metal.

  • Black metal lyrics are usually about fantasy too.........or the occult

  • if you don't think this is black metal you have serious problems, and it is symphonic black metal

  • this isnt black metal it has no black metal themes

  • The moonless abysses of mid-earth, black basaltic halls of night,

Ghoul-plagued darkness, vale of fiends, amorphous leige bloats and breeds.

Elder shadows writhing before the silvern gate of eternal winter,

Dark shapes entwine the mist-veiled cromlech,

Dying torchlight gleams on silent black waters,

Fen-wolves sing to the gibbous moon...

that is some of the most black metal lyrics you can come up with ever

  • totally

  • OOOIIIIIII

  • this is some epic black metal. the subgenre is fantasy metal right?

  • amazing

    1:52-2:22 is so dark-summon-spellcraft-ish...

  • I love this song too.

  • Great song.
