  • anything thats worth sweating and dreaming of is worth achieving, well done , REI

  • @1sttony7 - Thanks, couldn't agree more...

  • @deanpothorin your welcome, ive been in martial arts for over32 years, and have enjoyed it all , show respect, train hard and reach for your goals , your parents should be very proud of you...

  • Your earned that Belt Kid God bless you.

  • i truely respect you and your acheivments. only blackbelts from real schools and who went through hell to get their belts understand the pain and suffering that we are willing to go through to get the belt. but really a blackbelt is in your heart, not the belt around your waist.

my school has a three day test. it was pure hell, but i finally went through it.

your journey has just begun. good luck in everything in you do.

  • our test takes like 8 hours. did you have to run? we have to do a mile and a half in under 10 minutes

  • Black belt is just a belt around your waist, true black belt is your attitude... :D

  • What would happen if they needed the loo? I would in 20 hours. :D

  • 20 hours straight??? DAMN. they worked their asses off for that belt!

  • @LMA629 They could say they needed the loo then go out :D

  • @UrbanSomething A 4 year program for an adult is pretty standard. For kids,it should be 6 to 8 years. Our school sets high standards for Black Belts, and rarely do they get a full Black Belt their first try. This kid did this test twice. I think it proves a point as he competed in the World Karate Championships in Trinidad this summer and won a Silver and Bronze metal (out of 25 countries). Good luck and train hard.

  • Great work Boden! I took Shotokan in High School, it was not even close to this! I'm still not convinced kids should have a Black Belt, but after seeing these videos this might be the exception.

  • was it 20 hours in a row or did he get any breaks

  • @sravanmun 20 hours in a row

  • @deanpothorin but you must drink something in 20 hours! It's unpossible that you do 20 hours 100%!!!

  • @198Karo Yes, you can drink and even eat a little while someone else is performing.

  • Good for you. This looked like a real mental and phyical test that you managed to fight through. People forget that a black belt is more then having spot on technique. It's going further then you ever thought you would and ever thought you could. You are a good martial artist...

  • Good for you. One of the first black belt tests that I can say the student really deserves their belt. This looked like a real mental and phyical test that you managed to fight through. People forget that a black belt is more then having spot on technique. It's going further then you ever thought you would and ever thought you could. You are a good martial artist...

  • your students must have a good teacher

  • what type of karate?

  • @jjtc100 Shotokan

  • how old is that kid

  • @xxShaunWhitexx He's 12 years old now. He just won a silver and a bronze at the World Karate Championships in Trinidad this summer.

  • HOLY SHIT! 7 years for a black belt?!?! thats nuts.

  • This kid has shed the blood, sweat, and tears for his black belt! And now, his lifelong journey in the martial arts takes another step. Everyone gets so angry about lazy kids and McDojo buy-a-belt schools; I just feel sorry for them and their parents. Money wasted on a worthless belt. If the kids and parents at the McDojos truly understood and valued martial arts, they would be ashamed at being that pathetic and flaunting around their "black belt". You are a true warrior, my friend!!

  • @LotusSaya

    Nice - in full agreement.

Many may think that this is a paper belt. So we took the Ultimate test. This Kid made it on Team Canada and competed at the World Karate Championships in Trinidad this summer. With over 20 countries, and 1000 competators, he won a silver (in continuous sparring) and a bronze (in Kata). THAT is a true test of his capabilities. Team Canada came in 2nd overall. NO paper belt here. Thanks Man - appreciate the support. Karate is a great program.

  • i thought u were going to drop in the last vid. now that is a black belt test unlike others iv seen
