Besides the hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims (men, women, children and even babies) this SCUMBAG (besides being a DRAFT DODGER that SUPPORTED the war in Vietnam but kept his ass safely away from the battlefield thanks to his father) is also responsible for the deaths of thousands and thousands of his own people that he sent into battle lying (aka fabricating intelligence) IN THEIR FACE.
Of course people volunteer if they're given false/fabricated intelligence that their country is in great danger. Wouldn't you volunteer if you wouldn't stop and THINK for a moment? And speaking of "public policy" that "these fatsos have a ton to learn about", what are your thoughts on PUBLIC MANIPULATION? No thinking, conforming and obeying?
The American Dreamers... no wonder this country is going down the drain bit by bit...
"They are simply against America and all we stand for."
LMFAO. As soon as someone stops and points at the crap that's being thrown in their face, there has to be a smartass that's going to use the "Anti-American" word.
If you were to move to any country in the world, and if you would have a discussion with any person and used the Anti-Italian, Anti-French, Anti-German, or whatever for having a different opinion... they'll just look strange at you / laugh at you. Congrats.
Americans have sacrificed. Habeas Corpus gone. The Geneva Conventions don't apply. NSA. Katrina. New Orleans sacrificed a lot because the Louisiana National Guard is in Iraq and the Army Corps of Engineers wasn't as capable of responding. Don't say Americans haven't sacrificed, Please.
What Bush should have asked, and what I would ask the two talk show hosts is: what do you suggest by way of the rest of the country sacrificing? What would be your proposal in this regard?
How about asking people to buy war bonds like in WWII? If people are behind this war, they'll do it. Heck, they might even burn them like they did in WWII. Bush won't ask because he knows they won't sell. Hard to spin that kind of data.
War Bonds in WWII were sold to raise money for the war effort. Bush won't start that program again because the effort is not needed. Sort of the same reason he won't ask kids to collect tinfoil, and why we haven't rationed rubber for tires. You seem to have fond memories of the 1940s, but welcome to 2007.
Thanks for the kind welcome. China is buying T-bills to finance this war. I'd rather owe Americans for this folly than the Chinese. History is important to understand so we don't make the same mistakes again. Study hard.
Your comment is irrelevant, as is this discussion. We are spending more than we take in every year. We make up the difference by selling T-bills to the Chinese (and others.) If we sold War bonds, we'd need to see less T-bills, thus we'd owe less to the Chinese. Of course, no one would buy the War bonds anyway, so it's a moot point.
The selling of T-bills or War Bonds or having a yard sale on the Potomac is not necessary as the economy is sound. If you listened to the State of the Union address last night, the budget proposals Bush has will seriously reduce (or eliminate) the deficit in five years.
I did listen. The economy is not sound if you are running this huge of a deficit. Period. The President judges the economy by how the top minority is doing, not by how the bottom and middle are doing. The vast majority of this country is experiencing wage stagnation or is moving backward financially. Not the symptoms of a truly sound economy.
Even a year ago when you wrote this, you should have known better and been ashamed. Unless...but of course! You were posting from the 140-degree heat in Iraq, from inside your cramped (15 men in a room built for 4) quarters, dusty and exhausted from your 4th tour of duty. It's 2008 now, and I sure hope you made it home safe from this war! Do you know my son? Thank you so much for your service, for sacrificing yourself to keep ME safe in America....InvestigatorDave!
I do not know your son, (obviously), but if, as you imply, he is a member of the military, then I thank him for his service.
As you have no idea what my military service is/has been, or what my involvement in the current war is, it might not be appropriate to assume there is none.
A year ago (2007) the Dems had control of the House and Senate. And had had control for one year. Today, another year later, they have had control for two years. How are they doing on any of the promises they made to get elected? None of the economic situation is at their feet? Only Bush? Only Cheney? Come on. Be realistic.
How about just asking them to pay for the war, and not foist the bill off on the next 10 generations down the road? How about bringing back the draft so our military people don't have to stay in Iraq 15 months and keep returning until they're maimed or killed, including over 40,000 who've been declared medically unfit? NOPE! Can't draft people's kids, or raise everybody's taxes, because that would send Americans into the streets to end Cheney's War of Misery for Profit TOMORROW!!!
How about cutting all the wasteful spending we currently have and then become more economically stable?
Draft? No one, including the Generals or the Pentagon, want a draft. They all say that the quality of service member is much higher in the volunteer military.
I don't believe in raising taxes. If you do, then campaign for one of two candidates supporting that. Me? I feel overtaxed now.
This is not Cheney's war. And, Cheney does not profit from it. Please lose that talking point.
How long's it gonna take for this draft-dodger to get prosecuted for the crimes he committed? Rhetorical question...

I think Bush was talking about sacrificing our lives, not our wallets... because the bankers wouldn't like that.

hahahahah.. Once again these dumb turks seem to amaze me. They are simply against America and all we stand for.
WHY........ WHY would they want all Americans to sacrafice? The U.S. Military is VOLUNTEER. They signed up to sacrafice for US TO NOT HAVE TO.
These fatsos have a ton to learn about public policy.

Study hard, indeed. Assignment 1: learn the difference between War Bonds and T-bills.

How many American troops have died since you posted this? Do you KNOW? What about CARE?
