  • I know these fish as dog fish,,,and I have gotten them as large as 8 pounds up in the NY area out on Long Island on the south shore... Mouth full of teeth and a bad ass attitude to go with it. Don't get your fingers caught in its jaws...that will hurt for sure... :)

  • Just cut the damned line, it's less painful for the fish!

  • Yea this things are just like mudfish all they do is eat all of the good fish so when u catch one find a brick i think u know step two

  • man i was down in key west and i had a double hook goin on and i felt both pulled at once and it was two toad fish pissed me off

  • that's like watching a dentist movie, ouch

  • is this in freshwater? i thought they lived in saltwater

  • It's saltwater. I had only lived near saltwater for a short while and had never seen one.

  • lol ur like ITS BITING LOOK AT IT LOL !!!

  • Why didnt you keep it, and put it on ur wall or something ;). They are rife, arent they. People dont really eat them

  • @Staatssicherheit

Yes, Chinese resteraunts do cook them and serve them. They are a pain in the ass to us fishermen, they eat anything on a hook and tend to swallow the hook without a fight.... that sometimes means that we remove their stomach when removing the hook.

  • I have a toadfish in my fresh water tank, and he's doin' fine

  • I saw your toadfish video. I would have never thought that you could keep one at home like that. He's cool!

  • i just caught a couple of those with a castnet the other day and they still hurt like hell even when they are only an inch long lol....ill let it bite my finger i was messing with the really big one he got mad lol

  • @elintel i cought mine in a river and hes the meanest thing in my 125 gallon tank now lol

  • and he eats gold fish

  • I bet he has no problems eating gold fish, because their teeth are sharp and their jaws are strong!

  • i have one in my saltwater tank

  • First time I ever felt sorry for a fish! I enjoyed the video, another funny one.

  • I normally would have just cut the line and let the hook desolve on it's own, but that was my LAST hook and I wasn't ready to go home just yet!

  • lol careful with those guys, pretty venomous dorsal spines.

  • My friend told me about those. This was the first toad fish I've ever caught. Thank goodness that my friend was there when I caught it!

  • kiss it!

    see what happens... LOL
