I know these fish as dog fish,,,and I have gotten them as large as 8 pounds up in the NY area out on Long Island on the south shore... Mouth full of teeth and a bad ass attitude to go with it. Don't get your fingers caught in its jaws...that will hurt for sure... :)
Yes, Chinese resteraunts do cook them and serve them. They are a pain in the ass to us fishermen, they eat anything on a hook and tend to swallow the hook without a fight.... that sometimes means that we remove their stomach when removing the hook.
i just caught a couple of those with a castnet the other day and they still hurt like hell even when they are only an inch long lol....ill let it bite my finger i was messing with the really big one he got mad lol

I bet he has no problems eating gold fish, because their teeth are sharp and their jaws are strong!

First time I ever felt sorry for a fish! I enjoyed the video, another funny one.

I normally would have just cut the line and let the hook desolve on it's own, but that was my LAST hook and I wasn't ready to go home just yet!

My friend told me about those. This was the first toad fish I've ever caught. Thank goodness that my friend was there when I caught it!
