Derby is a great city, the westfield is pretty crap though! When Debs was on victoria street it was a much busier city, that side is all bars now!

Just the start...all those empty shops can now be used as justification for the rest of the town centre being demolished, so the new buildings can be owned by very different people and be controlled by very cynical new leases, for example some leases already state that the freeholder automatically gets a cut of any property sale. Do yourselves a favour once and for all and dont support the big developments...

I was in Derby a few weeks ago and I must say it is an utterlely depressing and ugly city. Its got nothing going for it at all its so bad!! It doesnt help that the locals all look as though they buy their clothes from charity shops!! Derby is a proper shithole!! Im just glad I will never be near it again!!

The 'develper' that bought the hippodrome is a c**t. I hope he gets what he deserves. Council are a joke, only interested in 'diversity' not the best person for the job. Other citys take pride in their wonderful historic buildings and fight to keep them, our ouncil are full of weedy, secondrate 'adminstrators' with no guts or passion. hate derby now, used to love it

Derby Planners need to be investigated. St Alkmunds church and the Georgian Square descruction were a travesty - the tearing down of the railway station. Derby has no little of it's wonderful buildings and heritage left.

I think the government need to step in - with large traditional houses being knocked down in Littleover, and replaced with apartments despite the pressure on the schools/doctors etc and while destroying the character of Littleover Village in Derby - something weird's going on

That building opposite the Assembly rooms is terribly ugly though; it's an eyesore in fact. Typical Derby making a cock-up of things. I was going down Traffic Street recently, and it's just a mess. Everything's always late or delayed, the council are always changing things and making a mess. Whenever Derby do something, it's always a cock-up.

I've nothing against it, most of my family come from there, it's just that after travelling quite a bit recently, I've realised how Derby is.

The council have renamed it the 'cathedral quarter'.It's still full of empty shops just like before,but it now sounds a lot trendier.

Everyone calls in Iron Gate though, and the street is still called Iron Gate. I regularly travel to 21 Iron Gate.
