like overstanding comment i would say 'how not to drive but to look like a complete idiot never driven a manual and tries getting on a ferrari as first try..'
i have read: low RPMs stress the drive-tran. Well, then permanently high RPMs including blocking wheels whilst shifting because of wrong gear-to-speed-ratio is better? ..... ooooookaaay .....
An even bigger fail than the fact that this retard is cruising around in 2nd gear, it that he doesn't know how to drive, is that he put a fucking gay ass aftermarket stereo in his Ferrari.
first he doesn't know what he's driving, it's not like he's driving a honda. second, he has to shift or else he'll burn the gears very soon or will have to change transmission oil every 50,000 miles or so because of the high rpm's. third, it's not good specially for a car like this to be treated in such way.
Apparently you guys dont know that Ferrari's are better driven at higher RPM's. Its not good to run the engine at low RPM's and it causes stress on the drive-Tran. Sooooooo...............
@alexxbru if you drive like this I wouldn't put it past him to do something that dastardly as well. but your probably something doesn't sound right here...
@JOLLYGREEN215 Im telling you 100% this is a kit car costing no more than 15,000 to make and maybe he is driving like this because he built the replica and he is testing gear and/or a broken gearbox/ clutch plate.
@cobrakaitime no worries, that car came with an extra capacity turn signal fluid reservoir that counteracts backfires. His wobbulator shaft sounded iffy though.
All i learnt from this video is you cant drive to save your life and when you got on the freeway you got overtaken by what looks like a toyota Prius lol
@244537676 yeah u dont want the rpms to go over the alternator's limit otherwise u might cause a back fire in your catalytic converter, and jam the injector in the brake pump. THEN you'd look like a douche
nice car, nothing wrong with downshifting providing you can do it properly.. you didnt match the rev right hence the slight jerk/skid action from the car... and to the top comment 'er1k' .. little bit wrong there buddy
True on any new car you don't need to double clutch, but at least rev matching properly prevents an unwanted weight shift while threshold braking into a corner. Especially useful on a car you try to brake deep into a corner with or trail brake. Trail braking and slamming down into 2nd will cause the rearend to loosen up and possibly kick out if you don't use finesse.
dude. you dont need to rev your engine that high when you're not gunning it. pick whatever gear you need that will make the car do what you want with the least amount of gas and stress on the engine. i thought people with manuals know this
@IronGumby I've been driving manuals for 20 years and I found that higher gear with ligher pedal to be better than lower gear and heavier pedal. Within reason, of course, I'm not puttering around in 1st at 35mph.
@Scruit Yeah, I'm in line with your thinking on that, but only if you're actually trying to accelerate. I have an Acura RSX Type S (2nd gen) with the 4.765 final drive gear, which makes the gearing so so short, so by the time you want to _cruise_ at 35-40mph, you're in 6th gear. I'm serious. I got the ECU reflashed and it has enough torque to do it even down to 30mph. But, like I said, all for in intended purpose in mind. If I wanted to accelerate from that 30mph, I'd downshift.
@Scruit If I wanted to accelerate from 35-40mph to 50mph and I didn't care how lazily/long I took to get there, I'd feather the throttle and get there without straining the engine. If I wanted to get there in no time flat, shoot... I'd use 2nd gear. I drive with the philosophy of, "Can I achieve this same acceleration in a higher gear with less gas with no more strain on the engine?" If acceleration is zero, or close to nil, higher gear it is. No point in wasting gas, I say. Cheers.
@Scruit Wait... (YouTube is putting the newest comments at the top, BTW). You said two opposite things. I thought I read that you recommended a lower gear when possible because of what you said at the end. But what you said at the end doesn't line up with what you said at the beginning, which when I reread now, _is_ what I would agree with (the beginning, that is). Anyways, please, I appreciate your insight. I've been driving stick for 14 years, but have only learned a lot in last 3.
double clutching is stupid and is maily for synchroless transmissions. If he heel-toe'd proper, the tires would not have barked. The point of heel-toe is to apply brakes and downshift without upsetting the attitude of a car in a corner. Had he been driving more aggressively, he could have had some oversteer to deal with because of that "scratch"
It kills me when fucking idiots make comments like "Wow learn to double clutch and heel to toe". That shit is fucking useless unless you're driving an old bus made in like fucking 1960.
@er1k93 not nesseraly back the it wouldent go into gear with out grinding now it will go in to gear with out double clutching... but more moderin 5 speeds or what ever your driveing it still helps match highway speed to road spped to transmisson speed and it ups your tranny life.
@er1k93 Double clutching on down shifts on alot of cars and trucks keeps stress off of the transmissions syncros. More so on the higher rpm downshifts. Is it absolutely required? No, but does it save you syncros and remove stress from the tranny? Yes it does. Now if you ever see someone doubleclutch on an up shift, feel free to call them a moron....becuase that really makes no sense.
@SaGalv Double clutching is to rev match with the clutch engaged. On a push style clutch, which is in 99.9% of all synchronized automotive transmissions(different in heavy duty,) when you engage the clutch pedal, you're shoving the crank shaft into the thrust washers. By double clutching on a downshift, you're avoiding revving on the thrust washers. You can save the synchronizers by rev matching alone. On an upshift, with a light flywheel, double clutching is to save the synros by rev matching.
@SaGalv Doesn't even need to be a double clutch, just match the revs to the wheels to stop lockup and catastrophic damage to internals and or smashing the vehicle
@inmaliceswake So what your saying is, if i wanted to shift down to a lower gear I should push the clutch down, rev match the engine WITH the clutch still depressed, and then go to the next lower gear and release it? I cant really see how that helps the transmission...when the point of double clutching is to match the transmissions input shaft to the speed of the next gear your going to. Some trucks I had would not even go to the next lower gear unless I did this
@SaGalv I have to double clutch on upshifts once in a while when I'm racing otherwise the sychros aren't quick enough to keep gears from grinding. 1st to 2nd is the worst.
