  • So good. Thanks, Hans.

  • I am tired of "Double Consciousness" being just for blacks. Disabled people have it, too. Society's reflection of us is like planting a tulip bulb in a garden and complaining that a tulip has grown there instead of a rose. It is living with knowing that it is alright for someone to say something mean about our disability and it is wrong if someone has an issue and you try to give them genuine advice to help them. Double Consciousness is understanding the society sees you as childish.

  • @escritora08 Thanks so much for your comment. I teach the concept of "DC" in African American literature courses, and we discuss its applicability to other experiences, as you point out. Thanks again for the comment! Best wishes to you.

  • @escritora08 to be double-consciousness is to be african-americans......

  • @escritora08 In your attempt do distract and deflect...Blacks African Americans are the only people in this Nation that has to live with "Double Consciousness as a way of "Life" ask me why so many "Weave" and Hair vids? Serves to prove that the inferiorities can be manifested in what we try to cover up and prove to others even one another, the notion that "Hair" becomes the defining character Really? These are the "Childish" folks that need to grow up and broaden the horizon.

  • It looks like Lemert (secondary deviance) and Sartre (Bad Faith) had read some DuBois. Credit where credit is due
