I'm a fast filterer. In all honesty, the best bike I have ever used for getting through london traffic is my Daytona 675. narrow mirrors, narror clip-on bars, narrow fairing narrow footpegs and as agile as 90% of other bikes. only downfall is the slightly restricted steering lock which below 2mph in the tightest spots can be difficult, but then you just find another way around... or do a 20 point turn in a 2 foot space lol
@butcherbloke Them clip-ons sound an excellent piece of equipment for the job! I did buy a 2nd set of handlebars for my DRZ and I've been thinking of cutting them down. I read that you do lose some steering leverage on turns but overall it'll be worth it.
@187Premises Sounds like a plan, it's what I'd do. I don't think you'll miss the leverage all that much on a bike like that though. those wide bars are probably just a design feature inherited from it's motocross blood where the leverage is more needed.
Nice video dude. I find my Sv650 on about the same level as the fz6 for filtering, very comfortable to manage at low speed. Both great machines. The one thing I would point out in this video, and I'm guilty of it myself at times, is not doing an observation to the right such as at 1:25, if there's a cyclist or biker filtering down that gap you could be straight out infront of them. Not trying to pick a fight, you're clearly a very competent rider, just a suggestion :)
@rgaufman Yes, I'd choose the DRZ for filtering every time. An SM has a better turning circle for tight manoeuvring, the single cylinder engine always has good low down power where you need it. Only drawback is the bars are wide so with high mirrors like on vans you need to paddle the bars under them.
@187Premises Heh, fair play - donno how people filter on bikes like CBR600RR - check out video 6q2KXubWC9o - some crazy shit! -- I'm currently on a 250R but thinking about what I could potentially upgrade to and DRZ is definitely an option, I am worried though that the thin knobbly tyres won't have much grip in the rain - how do you cope riding in the rain in London?
@rgaufman My DRZ is a 400sm with the 17" road tyres and rain isn't much of an issue. I know there are road biased 21" tyres, but I've no idea how they'd perform in the wet. Best ask on a DRZ forum.
@187Premises Never had a problem with bikes in the bus lanes in Belfast (commuting on a push bike) but do notice you don't stop at the advance bike box....hmmmm. Then again the traffic in London seems much worse with all the vehicles going over the box unless a bike is already in it.
Do you usually ride like this or you were trying to make a point? I hate that bit from Tooting Bec to Tooting Broadway...everyday pedestrians jumping from nowhere
gheeeeeeeeeez thats crazy filtering gheeeeez seriously show room condition daaaaaamn that was cool man at the end encouraging yur fellow bikers haaaaa laughin though jejjejejej well at least he made it jejejjejeje nice vid sik song it went wit da vid
@187Premises ive got the E version, witch has proberly been thrashed to fuck loom went, camchain, loads of oil seals and now it smokes like its burnin oil.
They can be a real pain in the ass. If you are driving your car and they believe you have have moved slightly in their way, they will kick your rear view mirror off, kick your door and zoom away. If you pick up a fight with one of then, dozens of others might stop and attack you.
If you are riding your bike and not driving like a sociopath in traffic, they will cuss you out for slowing them down.
You really should come, I bet you would have a lot of fun with these guys, lol.

One of the things that make me love riding even more. Nothing like seeing a jam over a mile long and going through it like it's not even there. Had a few cack the pants moments though with cagers not looking/indicating while changing lanes though
@187Premises I passed my full test the other week and started playing on my XT 600 :> 2 days later i filtered for my very first time ever. This morning i was filtering in a mile long queue of traffic and i see i got to a gap which was just too small so i stopped in the left side of the queue but then i saw someone on a sportsbike go through and i thought , well fuck if he can do it i can , i tried it and missed the cars on both sides by cms because of my wide handle bars! You have competition!
@CyclingMikey Hello Sir. I've managed to spot Gaz twice so far. If I see Mrcellophane99, I'll run him over! Lol that 1 dislike is from him! Bastage!!! ;-)
HAHAHHA "come on you can do this" :D i feel the same, when in heavy traffic i see other bikers hesitating, swerving from left to right, only then deciding to stay behind the car!! that drives me nuts xD

Good filtering! Some of the obstacles you filtered through in this vid shows how retarded some drivers are in London though.

@devilcry4541 this is London, its not like this everywhere in the UK but its perfectly legal, other road laws make unsafe filtering illegal
