  • About 40 years behind, and learning how to solve all the old problems. Still, not bad going for a country that had difficulty making bicycles 40 years ago.

  • Great job !!!

  • Actually they probably could pull off an Apollo 8 type mission before the US but a landing will require a larger rocket and engines for a lander that can throttle.

If anything I think the private guys are going to be the first back to the moon.

Take Spacex they did not even exist before 2002 put something in orbit by 2008 and should be flying a crew capsule Dragon sometime in 2010.

Also will have a 28T class LV by 2014 F9-H which will be a 45T class LV with the Raptor upper stage.

  • Wonderful video. Excellent. Never seen this before. Well, the Chinese will return to the moon before the Americans. I'm sure.

  • chinas best rocket lifts 7 tons in to leo, to get to the moon they would need to build one that can do at least 100 and with no prior experience I dont see them beating the americans unless america cancels the ares 5 or something

  • Wow! This is really great video for a space enthusiast like me. Chinese are really well on the go with their space program.

  • Cool, it's look like Soyuz, but more sophiscated I think, Thank you Mr. Yao Cao

  • It's because the Russians helped design it .

Back in the 70s they thought about launching a Gemini type vehicle but some bad stuff went down in China during the late 60s and early 70s which derailed their space program.

  • @Membrane556,

    Its called "The cultural revolution"..

  • @Membrane556 are you on crack? chinese space program developed independently of the Soviets

  • Amazing footage of the orbital module being jettisioned and the re-entry module being seperated from the propulsion module. You can clearly see the re-entry module with the orange heat shield heading towards the earth's atomsphere.

The commentator is incorrect in discribing which module is being serperated. The propulsion module is still actually in space and sending back visual and the mini satellite is still orbiting the module and sending back photos.
