The sisters have sung this very difficult kriti of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar very nicely indeed. Kumudakriya is derived from the Melakarta Raga Pantuvarali, without the Panchamam swara. The derived raga sounds so different from the parent raaga because the fundamental swara Pa is missing, and so the raga is rather delicate and sensitive. The kalpana swaras are very good too; a dignified, controlled and superb rendering of this marvelous composition.
