dude fully dusts people! can't wait to check out Global Rally Cross. Heard they were x games qualifiers. Foust, Millen, and Dave Mirra are competing! It'smarch 25/26 google it, should be good!
man do i love rally racing!!!! I wish one day i could do what tanner does its amazing......i am like insanely into cars....i could stand there in a conversation about cars for hours i love it!!
@Qnickel27 In European rallycross there is like a slightly longer version of the lap which is called the joker lap. At some point during the race every car must take the "longcut" , they can decide to take it on any lap. I am thinking its the same for this American series. In not sure how long rallycrosss has been a sport in North America though?
@workshop77777 This is the first "proper" (circuit based) European style rallycross event in the US, Euro rallycross made its US debut at X-Games last month, though there wasn't really any proper tarmac sections, so it wasn't really rallycross.
Thats one of those Nordic Fiestas I reckon built by same company that made Blocks rally car and Gymkhana 3 Fiesta. Would probably have in excess of 500 horses and a lot more advanced then the competition. The advantage would also be compounded by the fact that this track is very open for a rallycross track.
@workshop77777 Yep, it's an Olsberg MSE car. I think in RallyX trim it's pushing 600-650hp and was built for RallyXing, not like Block's Rally car that was adapted from a Rallycross car. Foust has also been running most of the European RallyX championship this year, so he has lots of practice at this now.
@typhoon5000 I am thinking Blocks Gymkhana 3 car is also very similar to the one Tanner is sporting here. Marcus Gronholm used one also I believe in Pikes Peak last year too?
@typhoon5000 Yeah, thats right. Blocks rally car is a detuned and reworked version of the MSE rallycross Fiesta. Blocks Gymkhana car is also based on the rallycross shell and powerplant, though I think the transmission and the like is different as the demands on the car are different to those in rally and rallycross.
Foust has been VERY competitive in the ERC this year, I'm glad the practise has paid off for him!
@workshop77777 Yeah, some of the rallycross tracks in the UK are quite open, but I don't think any of them have as many open sections as this. Most of the tracks in Europe are a lot tighter, hence why the "Joker" lap is required as overtaking can be a bit messy otherwise!
