This video is an excellent example of why Pachelbel intended this piece to be played on 3 violins with a cello continuo.

cellos are tuned in 5ths just like any string instrument their strings are c,g,d, and,a

They may have changed it to make it easier to play. I don't know what cello is tuned to, but if it's tuned to the C scale, then everything would be in naturals except for any accidentals. Of course, I don't know what key it's tuned to.

This can sounds even better if the arrangement was on D major and the notes were left on the same scale. But it sounds good.

Its not that hard. Canon in D to Canon in C would just be play everything a whole step lower lol.
This is what Pachelbel's Canon was MEANT to be.
