Is there anyway for me to make an effect blend in behind something on my video? Example - I'm making a clip and I made an explosion effect and it is happening behind something on the video. Like it makes it look like it's happening in front of the object in the way not behind it. Is there a way to blend it in on a specific point on the video?

@nikitak09 I belive you need to mask out the object that is in front of the explosion, and this way the explosion will be behind the object you've masked. But im not sure if there aint an easier way...

Just like photoshop...the same layer blend modes.Just that Adobe like to hide things a little bit to bother me...They shoudl standarize all menus in all theire suit.Just put all the options and menus in the same place they do in PhotoShop.I know they have standarized a lot of the interface in Illustrator,Flash and the others...But still , i feel some things are like "hidden" whene i try a new (new for me) software of the adobe suit,like dreamweaver and now After Effects...Cool tutorial

alright, this was a 5 min tutorial... and now i feel like a fucking after effects wizard. I've been trying to mess around with the solid color layers - like one red and one blue - and add a wiggled opacity to each so that it would look like police lights were shining into the room or something. I don't know, i'm still not really all that experienced, but long story short i'm learning a lot. Thanks again.

when you preview the video in after effects it is called a RAM preview so there is no auido

How do you save a video?

When I click make movie It can only save as AVI and when i play it there's no sound and a watermark saying the file name.
