People used to say chocolate caused breakouts, but now scientists recognize it as a myth.
@TaurusType I think it's a myth that certain foods "cause" breakouts. If you eat healthfully, then you might see some improvement (perhaps due to the antioxidants). But otherwise, things like chocolate and potato chips aren't a key factor in acne breakouts.

i keep hearing about diet related acne. This is not the main cause. If it was then acne would be haphazard and fleeting. Something more complicated is taking place inside the body. something the experts know very little about yet. You wont persuade me on this. From my experience diet is only 5 percent of the problem.
yeah, diet is often not the cause but it's just a catalyst in many cases. like a certain food might even make a certain person always break out.

Nasty truth, there. :x Anyway, I concur that eating healthfully is a step in the right direction; I've heard that some nutritionists believe that a diet full of veggies helps a lot. I do consume a lot of antioxidants, but I think the main reason my skin is improving now is because of the two prescription medications I've been taking (Clarifoam EF and Tazorac). I'm 19, so I also know about adult acne firsthand. It's definitely painful to deal with! :(

If you have acne at adult age, doctor is the person to go to with the problem, if u're in UK-GP: ask for dietitian & talk! Don't just go for the product, these products are not reliable and doesn't suit everyone! Do not take things without concerning your doctor! Customer reviews don't matter in this matter - your condition could be different, acne don't come for the same REASON! Don't be FOOLED!

Just one I don't completely agree, that is letting "your doctor" many peeps in many countries don't have a personal doctor, who knows them, and I would suggest you took that doctors advice completely, get a couple of different doctors to tell you what you might have, and then and only then Make your own decision.

Yes for sure there are different types of acne and degrees of acne. Mine is moderate. I get mostly papules and pustules on my chin and jawline and those stubborn blackheads on my nose. Its not fun

Im not sure if it can only come from your parents and siblings. My mom has a brother who had severe acne and my dads brother also had severe acne. My parents didnt have acne. My mom had acne one year of her life after using a product dull of fragrance that didnt agree wtih her skin. I hardly consider that as acne considering Ive had acne for twelve almost thirteen years.

i keep hearing about diet related acne. This is not the main cause. If it was then acne would be haphazard and fleeting. Something more complicated is taking place inside the body. something the experts know very little about yet. You wont persuade me on this. From my experience diet is only 5 percent of the problem.

yeah, diet is often not the cause but it's just a catalyst in many cases. like a certain food might even make a certain person always break out.
but in my case the cause was rather weird. I once wondered if ejaculating could be the cause of my acne, and low and behold, it was. I stopped beating off for a week, and the results were amazing. totally unreal, and now my skin is pretty clear with just a few scars.
this happened recently.
acne has to do with chakra imbalances imo.

Orrrr, this might sound improbable but...
Put one half cup of bleach in small mixing bowl and at 3/4 of a cup of windex. Then Smear around acne infected areas. The upper lip is where alot of unexpected acne will occur at a young age so be sure to apply there. This can be used on back acne as well, pretty much the entire body.

i was able to keep from breaking out simply by taking hot showers every morning and night and after any activity that made me sweat. It works for me and my nephew only we get lazy now a days and take less shower and is starting to break out a little bit...but anyways maybe this might work for some of you guys out there
