Thats why in Islam , War is discouraged and DEFENSE is encouraged.. Human Beings are not made to be savages.. We afghans have a saying in Pashto: Human beings are harder then a Rock , but more delicate then a Flower. PTSD can only be fixed through prayers , right kind of prayers will cure it.. Your souls have been betrayed by your worldly orders.. Your soul has died which is why u have ptsd.. Prayer is the food for your soul. its a medicine.. Go to your local mosque and ask for help.
My son is a combat vet and suffers from PTSD but has not received adequate help. I cannot find your FB page or contact information on the help you're talking about in the video. :-(
Anyway, God bless the military and their families.
@dcb720 have you tried just googling ptsd help?? you're bound to find somthing there, ide think. And i really hope your son and every soldier who suffers from ptsd get the help they need. ptsd is NOT abnormal. its a normal reaction to combat. combat IS abnormal. thats the best way ive heard it been put.
I can't imagine what soldiers see, I know the pain having lost a cousin in an IED attack. I just wonder about his best friend who is still in Afghanistan now, He just got done with his R&R and has 6 more months left and I can't imagine what he's seen. What he feels. Every soldier comes back changed I can imagine. The US doesn't do anything about its soldiers suffering from PTSD. We need to do all we can to help these brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect their country.
i sincerely hope that the two people who disliked this video accidentally did that when trying to press the like button. Very inspiring video Chris, more people out there need to know what their freedom costs by soldiers around the world. The people who protest what we do just don't know and its sad. Glad you are showing the world the truth.- Jonny
Chris, thank you for the incredible video. It takes a lot of courage to expose oneself this much, all in an effort to help others. It is through people like you that the public can start to learn what Veterans are going through. More importantly, actions like this can often be the catalyst others need to seek the help that is out there. Thank you, and we will be sharing this video.
Thank you all for the kind words, especially when it comes to this video. I bared my soul, put my man hood and pride on the line, literally broke myself down, and your kind words help me build myself back up again, The video is a simple message to those who need to hear it, but it took a lot out of me to release it. For myself their are consequences but at this point they are well worth it. I just hope the video meets the right people. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Remarkable and very much needed. It shows that more veterans are coming to terms with what happens after combat and understanding they have nothing to be ashamed of. This will save a lot of lives and get more to seek help.
It's been 5 years now since I was diagnosed with PTSD from the Gulf War. In those first 15 years it was a living hell. I drank, got into fights and almost lost my family because of it. The first help I got was from a peer councilling group that was great. I felt like I was a monster, alone in the world and not wanting to see the looks in other peoples eyes. After the peer councilling, I still feel like a monster but no longer alone... just in company of other monsters. I am now trying a shrink.
I'm enlisting for the US Army as a 68W next month. My biggest goal in life is to get a degree in psychology and ultimately work with PTSD soldiers. Our men and women that suffer from PTSD are not given enough attention. This video just added to my drive in life for this goal.. Really makes me want to push harder for my education to work with them!!
Let me take a moment to share insight into the making of this video:
This conversation actually took place AFTER our scheduled interview shoot as Chris was driving me home. Unrehearsed and honest he simply spoke from the heart. Aware of the consequences.
We worked through the night. 17 hours later this video was completed. Chris was there the entire time...slept not a wink.
@RubioFilmsChannel Thank-you for your work with Chris and Military Minds! PTSD is a terrible thing to live with, and so many don't even know what it is. Chris has really opened himself up and put himself out there for all of us. Everyone has a story to tell indeed, but it isn't easy to find someone who can illustrate that point, you have done this well. This is as raw as it gets. Thank-you for your hard work, and Chris, you ARE doing it. Stay strong!
As a 20 year veteran, I'm so concerned about PTSD. I can't even get the USAF to admit that I have it...God forbid they'd have to raise my tiny little 40% disability rating...Good luck, man, I am praying and pulling for you!
I've been suffering for a little over 4 years now.. I go to the VA in Los Angeles and to me it seems like the doctors are there to just collect a check.. They don't know anything that's going on in our heads.. Just give me meds after meds.. It makes it worse.. Plus they all have horrible attitudes! I seriously hate mylife at times
I like these guys a lot... if only I could walk up to one or more in those 18, meet them and change their terrible thoughts... There's got to be something we can do. Good video.
Dear Chris - thank you for sharing your insights in this video. PTSD is such an important issue that seems to be always swept under the carpet... if you can't see it supposedly it doesn't exist. Together we can all make a difference and not only as a nation, but as a people, as humans we owe this to our soldiers and their families. Thank you for your sacrifice and your service. Bringing this to the light, bring awareness, and awareness brings solutions, and solutions brings healing. Namaste.
PTSD is something we all need to talk about, it affects the soldiers and their families and we all need help sometimes, thanks for this video. and thank you for serving your country,
Chris, Our Government spend money on the Mission, dealing with the aftermath IS part of the mission and they need to realize that. Our appreciation for what you guys sacrifice should extend beyond just words, access to effective treatment no cost spared. I hope the message gets through...again THANK YOU and keep up the fight through awareness
First off- Thank you to all who served, I am not a soldier 20 + years ago I was in a car accident that left my father dead & I busted up pretty bad I spent the next 10 years having flashbacks & nightmares. I drank heavy had unpredictable mood swings. I finally sought professional help, I was diagnosed with PTSD it took meeting 3 different shrinks to find one that I was comfortable with. Then the healing began, life can get better do not loose hope. We Americans OWE you HOPE please seek help.
Chris, I have known you now for almost three years and I had a lot of respect for you before seeing this and now I have even more. Thank you for speaking out about PTSD and hopefully other soldiers seeing this will seek help if they are going through the same thing as you. My phone is always on as well ,Thank You for making this...... - Dave

My heart aches for pstd and/or depression sufferers. I have suffered and recovered from both, (not war induced).
REACH OUT, KEEP GOING, DON'T GIVE UP! It isn't easy, the best things never are.
REMEMBER: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem and the world is a better place with you in it.
Recovery isn't linear, (all straightforward all the time), it takes time and effort but I PROMISE you it's WORTH taking the time and effort for.
Take care and heart xxxx
