I have the greatest neighbors I could ask for and the area is a now a strong growing community. Downtown, Midtown, Woodbridge, The New Center are all changing for the better. Heck, we have a Whole Foods opening next spring. Also the owner of the Detroit Red Wings seems to be interested in building a new arena in southern part of Cass Corridor.
miss this type of reality in life...simple to live and understand...not to be programmed by psychologists in the field...in some ways i enjoy looking at the realism of a place like Detroit as opposed to the falsity of life in a place like Houston, Texas.

Some of the photos look like they were taken in North Corktown, across the Lodge Fwy. from the Cass Corridor. I used to live in Detroit 1992-93. Dirty, rude, falling apart. I used to go to church at Cass park baptist. Detroit taught me something about cultural differences and the sufferings of others. Then moved to Flint and learned why it was called "little Detroit". I hate that place. Lived there for six & 1/2 years.
You should look at what Camden, NJ looks like. And Detroit is a good place. I've lived there my whole life and I love it. Every city has the good, bad and the ugly. umm yeah thats not the actual corridor, that's probably more of the E.Warren/Chene and 7mile/Chalmers area. the Cass Corridor is now home to wayne state university, the DIA, the public library, the science center, the Detroit Medical Center, College for Creative Studies and a lot more. there demolishng old hoods everywhere. around Youngstown i dont recoginze parts of the city anymore. I miss the abandoned buildings after there gone

Im white and live in da d. People dont mess with me. They just dont like outsiders. Stay in ur own hood. I dont have to dress ghetto they can tell if u live in detroit by ur attitude. Dont walk around at night by urself if ur white or black. You will get ur ass kicked. U get to no people in da hood and ur like a family. I stay in my own part of detroit though and dont go into others territories. Just keep ur head up and ur good.

I'm a serb and have lived in Novi Sad Serbia, Detroit MI USA, and Toronto Canada. Being where I'm from, i have seen white ppl commit horrible acts. Ones that your brain can't even fathom. There are many ppl in general who act like savages from all races, in most cases it's circumstances which causes them to behave that way.

umm yeah thats not the actual corridor, that's probably more of the E.Warren/Chene and 7mile/Chalmers area. the Cass Corridor is now home to wayne state university, the DIA, the public library, the science center, the Detroit Medical Center, College for Creative Studies and a lot more. The corridor isnt as bad as it was 30 years ago, Detroit still has beauty. (And dont try saying i dont know anything about the city, thank, I live in the corridor.)

if you ever go to detroit, the cass corridor, and the brush park, area are some of the oldest hoods in the midwest,. i hope they can save some of those homes.

Amazing to see empty blocks or shelled out blocks where good Americans once raised their families and to see the places they once earned their living. Where did the legacy move on to? Anyone? Who was born on these streets and where did you move to better times. It's understandable. One should want to live where it is safe. Can't blame a man from moving out of a house full of termites.
