  • This particular hearse reminds me of the one in the move called "The Hearse"

  • The final insult at death...being hauled away in the back of a Dodge to the cemetery. lol

  • holy moly i love this car sweet

  • Dodge hearses - for the poor way out!

  • Very cool car. I've seen a few Chryslers, but, never a Dodge. I used to own a '69 Cadillac Superior myself.

  • COOL HERSE

  • SWEET

  • Cool! old Dodge hearse.

  • that hearse makes me jealous as hell. very nice hearse! she's a beauty!

  • (2)....I got in and she said she "had broken down and some people were coming back to help her." I remarked about her beautiful car. She replied that it was a 49 Dodge and when she bought it new her neighbors just "ooohed and ahaaad over it". This women had to have been at least 80 years old, in a full mink coat, hair done up, make-up etc....It felt like I was in the William Holden movie "Sunset Bulovard". Everytime I see a 49 dodge I think of that nice old lady

  • (1)_A_GOOD_STORY__I have always been a car buff. About 1980 I was driving my beautiful 1962 Chrysler on a minor highway. It was night time & "bitter cold out". I spotted a "like new" 49 dodge on the side of the road. I pulled up behind it, got out and asked the driver if she needed help....to my astonishment it was a "very old" lady dressed in beautiful clothes from about the 1940s . She spoke in a very articulate "blue blood" manor. She told me to get in the car because it was too cold out...

  • anyone can buy a hearse, parks superior sales in conn. has dozens, you just need money.

  • it looks so dirty inside.other than that, its all good!

  • im not much a dodge fan but dam that's sweet

  • nice hearse i like it btw i know this would be a perfect cherry to any collection with it war scared or completely renewed to its prime form

  • im confused, but interested, is it legal to drive around in a hearse if you arent a funeral driver...im guessing it isnt illegal since so many people have hearse videos, and theres so many hearse clubs, there cant be that many funeral drivers in the world lol...im definitly getting a hearse, i want a nice black one with purple interior...oh, and whats the inside back end look like, is it just open space or what? im planning on driving this as a regular car, and using it wenever my band has gigs

  • the back has rollers for the coffin and pins/nail type things to hold the coffin in place

  • yes it is legal to own a hearse, but most are cutsom built nowadays i believe, and they wont sell them to a civilian, but you can definately legally own an old one, a new one too if you can find someone to sell it to you.

  • Shortly after posting the video response seen above, Mrblues007 (James Wayner)passed away at his home. He was an original band member of The Tombstones in the 1960's, and told me he had many great memories of this old hearse........... Rest in Peace Jim Wayner.

  • The Tombstones enjoy a few great years using this hearse and many good times were had in the back...wink wink nudge nudge. Lead Singer from the Old Tombstones 1964

  • Yes, It is amazing what they started with. The musuem told me it is in Canada. A funeral home owns it, hence the loads of cash available to restore it...

  • Hello, John J.C. Little was the builder of that Carved coach as well. He was a very well respected Coachbuilder, and I am proud to own one of his vehicles. That carved coach took $300,000US to restore !

  • Very cool. My g/f wants to be a funeral director and she absolutly loves hearses. Whats the interior look like in that thing? I would totally keep it all original. Those wide fenders and rounded edges are awesome. Very cool.

  • Sorry i was posting this midway through the video. Interior looks great. I can belive the ammount of rust or lack there of on that car. Wouldnt take much to get that baby on the road. If you like hearses, go to www.grimrides.com. Very cool site.

  • Thanks, I love my hearse, gonna sleep in the back of it soon for one night. awwww,,, Cheers,.,

  • Congratulations! A really nice one - except that ghoulish things inside the vehicle. Must be that car seen on ebay a while ago. It´s always a pleasure to see that another one of the rare hearses built by John Little has survived to date. Enjoy it. :)

  • I am enjoying it, Thanks, hope to have it on the road one day ! I just added another (fun) video of the car. Cheers, and thanks for your great comments !!
