I am familiar with the story but this was the first time I had thought about the donkey not being eaten. That is very interesting. I think many of us are like the prophet that was eaten and we suffer consequences. The comfort that we have however is in the faithfullness of God's word and what he says he will do. The prophet who disobeyed and suffered the lion can be thankful that God was swift in punishment which perhaps gave hime opportunity to repent and be received into Gods Kingdom
