Those who have lost everything should not lose hope. Death is a great keeper of all things that seem lost. Together all lost loves reunite in the great oblivion.
isn't this music absolutely astounding...I recall it being used at the beginning of BBC's "WW2 behind Closed doors-stalin, the nazis and the west"...Photographing fairies is such an emotional roller coaster too
Thank you so much for uploading the final scene. I recorded the film from the TV and it cut off the last three vital moments. It is a beautiful and moving film.
This has to be one of my most favorite(and horribly under-rated) movies of all time! It's not only the cinematography that makes it so stunning, but the music that goes with it that makes it so appealing. To pair the final scene with Beethovens 7th symphoney, second movement and the stunning visuals is just pure brilliance! This will always be a true treasure to me!!
Love the ending. The best reunification he could have had with his wife was to go back to the moment when he lost her ... but this time manage save her.
This music is simply amazing. I heard it just now in a documentary and remembered it being in this outstanding film ... had to look it up.
This is an amazing film, and the surreal aspects are kind of scary at times, which I'm not if it is intensional. The haunting sound as the protagonist falls down the hatch is very eery, especially the appearance of the fairy afterwards. One of the most memorable films I've ever seen.
Fantastic ending to a great movie. Beethoven's 7th 2nd movement is too slow for my taste (prefer Karajan's versions), but fits perfectly, thanks for posting.
A wonderful movie.

One of my favorite films. His transcends his seemingly trivial execution, and appreciates the beauty/unity of the bigger picture.
